Sure, Uchida is not consistend enough but still good. He played normaly every game in one of the best teams ins Germany,so you can say he is a good player but when Hiroki Sakai improve more then i prefer him too

He said we can look forward to it, leaving open if there's a possibility of a transfer at all.

According to kicker (print edition), Schalke manager Horst Heldt is already in talks with Uchida over a contract extension. Although he had a season with ups and downs, he is highly rated by the Schalke board. "He has a top attitude towards his job and the club", praises Heldt, "an outstanding mentality and he has still room for improvement (...) He harmonizes very well with Farfan on the right side".

Better for him to stay in Schalke where 50% will be a starter 50% a quality sub. And he will play UCL again.

Heldt was saying he is want to build a new Schalke with Uchida and the dont need Rafinha back cause the have Uchi now.Sounds veeeeery great for him,now he has everything in his own hands to start a big future !

Glad to hear such good things, I hope it's true... is it an interview with Kicker? is Kicker reliable?
He came to 2010 as a backup to their starters, but became one soon after and really impressed. Last season didn't start so well, but got good playing time and still impress.
Before this season ended, I was wondering how thing will pan out for Uchida, would he leave on transfer or loan? Glad if Schalke intendst to keep him and play him more often.

Kicker is the biggest football magazine in Germany and in this article is the live interview from Horst Heldt so its true. Normal Kicker is a serious source

Only one club I can think of that is bigger than Schalke is Bayern Munich. I don't think clubs like Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia M'gladbach are bigger than Schalke 04, financially, of course.

My guess for Germany would be Leverkusen or Wolfsburg. Both teams are financially above midtable and have problems on that position.
But it doesn't matter as it sounds like Uchida is going to extend.
