    Any predictions on the line-up?

    This is mine:

    -----------Mike-----------
    Kiyotake--Kagawa--Okazaki
    ------Hasebe--Endo-------
    Nagatomo----------Komano
    -------Konno--Yoshida-----
    --------Kawashima--------

Just realized that the game is on 11-11-11

I think you're about right, except I reckon Kagawa will take the left side and Kengo will slot into the middle like in the last game. If not that, then Kiyotake might be CAM.

Also remember Nagatomo isn't eligible for the game due to injury, but Ucchi is.

    Havenaar
    Kagawa---Nakamura---Okazaki
    Endo---Hasebe
    Komano---Konno---Yoshida---Uchida
    Kawashima

Hasebe on the pitch on Tajikistan: "It's basically dirt".

Don't expect a 'pretty' style of play from Japan. They'll go long ball a lot more and Havenaar will be getting a lot to do. Like usual, the early goal will be important.

Man that looks bleak. It'll be tougher there than it was in Uzbekistan and maybe even how it will be in Pyongyang. Does that stadium even have broadcasting facilities?

It seems like the field isn't as bad as it was thought before. They checked it during official training and were relieved by it's current state but there are some bald places around the pitch. Just look at the photo.

And Endo, aside form obvious advantages like Gachapin looks and being great player, offers sometimes stingy comments (probably asked if he had played on such a bad field): "In Osim period Yemen's was worse. (in J1) I think that the one in Kobe brings similar impression."

Is it common ground that Vissel's pitch is bad, or has he subtly dissed them?

A bit of both. If wouldn't like to diss Vissel then he wouldn't come up with that example.

Nah, they just try not to engage themselves in 1 on 1 on this pitch. No long balls and Okazaki who can't score from 5 metres...

    wow this is pathetic

Tajikistan have come closer to scoring than Japan.

This is where we need Honda. He'll take the entire team on his back in order to win and he's not afraid to shoot.

I don't understand why they keep trying to chip the ball in the air when they're in the 18 yard box.

Either shoot or keep it on the ground.

Re: (2011.11.11) FIFA World Cup Qualifier: Japan x Tajikistan [R]

They've been shite. The only two GOOD performances thus far have been Konno and Komano. They gotta switch on, Tajikistan's few attempts for 'goal of the year' have been awfully close.

The worst player so far? By far it's been Atsuto Uchida (he looks to be struggling in the heat more than the others), but other than Konno/Komano, none of them have given a good account of themselves.

The ground looks pretty crap as well saying that.

    completely agree

There's no sense of urgency at all. They are playing like the result doesn't matter at all and seems like everyone is acting complacent.

Tajikistan will get a 30 yard screamer in the 2nd half then defend the tie like their life depends on it.
