That 1 goal by Olimpia might make the difference next week in El Nacional. Santos didn't look dominant, people seem to forget they scored off amateur mistakes. Morazan's Handball and Jhonny Palacio's piss poor excuse for a clear with that Karate Kick crap. If Olimpia can minimize the mistakes and hold on to the ball a little bit more, they could see off Santos 2-0 in El Nacional where they usually perform their best.
The Haiti team is holding Morelia to 1 goal. I do not think they will be able to hold Morelia for 120 more minutes.
So how are Alianza getting away with kicking the ball away after every whistle to prevent the quick restart? That's the third or fourth really blatant one this game. I've seen players shown yellow for less.
Really, did not know that. In Europe my sense has always been that the refs will let you get away with standing over the ball so it can't be kicked, but if you actually kick it away you're likely to see yellow.
Phantom red cards sure help. So it's not just Yank teams that gets questionable refereeing in Central America.
Its definitely not just the yanks. CONCACAF really needs to do something about training their refs properly these preliminaries had refs that were making bogus calls and others that were missing obvious calls. There isn't a single country in our region with good refs we just have different degrees of bad.
For the sake of accuracy, the Alianza-Dallas games was played in ES. Not to be a stickler but it was rather Alianza 0 Dallas 1.
with the amount of El Salvadorians in Dallas.. Alianza will be at home for both legs. Papa Motagua This basically seals our birth into the group stages. Lookin forward to seeing if Olimpia can do the same and come out with a victory in El Nacional.
