Yeah, you can say put it on the local sports channels all you want, but if they channels don't want to cover the team and don't care about the team, that ain't much you can do. @Violet, Palace UK did have problems, but CPB is a separate entity. They aren't too reliant on the parent team.
USL 2 attendence from 4-24 Richmond 1279 http://www.richmondkickers.com/home/422923.html Harrisburg City 1433 http://www.uslsoccer.com/stats/2010/1570340.html Charleston 4221 http://www.uslsoccer.com/stats/2010/1570339.html
Promote Charleston! This week's USSF D2: Puerto Rico 2,498 Portland 5,893 Vancouver 4,815 Baltimore 1,071 Minnesota 2,310 Montreal 13,034 Austin 2918 -- I think. I could be off by one or two. I'm going by memory. The number isn't up anywhere yet.
Don't expect anything shit worthy in Portland on Thursday. Once again the Blazers will be playing at home, game 6. This city SHITS about the Blazers, so, yeah, 6k will be likely.
Honestly I was a bit surprised. I know it was the home opener but there was alot going on locally this weekend (large music fest, Baseball at same time,) and we had a big storm come through around 5. I acually think our attendence average might go up this year. We only have home matches on Saturday and Friday's this season so that is a bonus (no regular season mid week matches)
Well, I don't think I am going to be doing it this year. I just got a promotion, which means MUCH more work for me. So I don't have a chance with lull's in the work day, and I don't have excel at home. If nobody takes it on, soccercityusa.com will be tracking it in a very similar way (better actually), though Alli is typically a couple weeks behind (busy ya know, working and such).
I can definatley do the the USL-2 teams (hell there are only like 3 games a week And l'll keep the USSF D2 teams updated as best i can as well, even though there is a similar thread over in the NASL forum. I recently retired from the military so I have some time on my hands.....
OK. Here we go. I can't let this disappear. Regarding the USSF D2, I'm just putting US Division 2. No reason to go putting the whole mess (USSF D2/USL1/A-League) every time. Especially since who knows what we'll have next year. Regarding USL2, Real Maryland, once again, failed to report their first attendance. But at this point, they're being very consistent about that, so the stats can actually be compared year-to-year. As with MLS, it's hard to really tell much this early. All that's clear is that Portland and Montreal have started their seasons earlier than last year. And the Median and <2K is the worst we've seen since 2003. That's nothing, though. Wait until next year when Vancouver and Portland are gone. This is just a preview of what we'll see next year, no matter what league(s) we end up with.
I hear ya, actually. I got moved to a new job 6 months ago -- no more money, a wash on better/worse job, and no choice. At least I should still have time to do this. I do enjoy it. Thanks for giving it a try!

It will be interesting to see how Tampa does this weekend. This will be a good weekend, with home games for Montreal, Vancouver, Rochester, Tampa and ...Miami. As to the USL2, I really don't know what to think. The USL website is all messed up and I had to hunt the team websites to get one of the numbers. The Monarchs continue to be a joke, and I really don't see how, with teams like that involved, the USL can present the USL2 as professional. It's probably too early, but I'm starting to get concerned that this little spat we had this past winter will kill professional minor league soccer for a little while.
Are you check the schedule page on the USL page and then clicking the score? thats the way I check the attendence, (with the exception of RMM, those numbers usually come from a guess by someone who was at the match) Wilmington over the years had pretty good numbers. With them gone. Im sure you'll see a drop. Pittsburg took a hit this weekend with the weather and everything else up that way and still had better numbers than Minnesota (I hope they improve there) I think things will work out but it might be uncomfortable for a few teams and us fans for a year or two
Yep. That's the way I did it all last year. Here's the page I get for the Richmond at Maryland game, and a similar one for the Richmond at Pittsburgh game. Just to be sure it's not something personal to me, here's what I see:
Kenn is a better sleuth than me. The USL2 attendance figures are now complete through last weekend. No thanks to Real Maryland. getting the same error message. Ill send them an email, they have been pretty good about anwsering my questions about the archive of Charleston USLlive matches.
It's actually way too early to tell. Half the teams have only played one game, and none of those are that far outside the range they had last year. Maryland is actually above their final average. Charleston is right around last year's average. But, really, with only Maryland having played more than two games, I think it's far too early to say. All it takes is one weekend of bad weather to make things look awful. But losing Wilmington didn't help the overall numbers.
Wilmington will be counteracted by Charleston. Richmond always draws well. I think they should do well this year. Charleston being the key. The LONE key.
Some PDL attendances from kenn http://www.kenn.com/the_blog/?p=3206 I also read somewhere that victoria highlianders had 1.3k for their home opener.
According to the new, improved USL2 website, the numbers were: Richmond 1986 Charlotte 677 Charleston 3226 So that's what I'm using. Not that it's that much of a difference. Your right. I had looked the numbers up and got distracted before I made my post. I was trying to go by memory but guess thats what happens when you start to age!
Victoria -1,480 Fresno - 2,318 Kitsap hoping for something in the 2k-range this weekend for their home opener. (USL-2 West candidates)
