I hope the Magic drop Vince Carter because he's worthless. Worst overthehill player, I hated him all year and this just confirms it.

Doc made a good point: A healthy Celtics starting lineup (since the 'Big 3' came) has never lost a playoff series. 7-0.

Some more food for thought: The Celtics lost all six 4th quarters (and OT) in this series . That's not going to cut it in the Finals.

The C's will do just fine in the finals. As much as I hate to say it but if the Lakers Vs Sun series goes 7, I see the C's winning the championship. Bynum is 100 % and that extra day will pay off for the C's. If the series ends tonight, I see the Lakers winning in 6.

At least the Lakers will actually have competition this time.

This to me ws the biggest moment of the series:

It will be a very interesting and compelling series. I hope it goes 7 games and the Lakers pull it off. Celtics have their whole team healthy, Lakers have a 60% Bynum but its better than no Bynum (6 extra fouls ;)).

I was one of the skeptics in when it came to the Ariza-Artest trade but he'll be worth the move in this series alone. His presence has reshuffled the defensive assignments completely into the Lakers' advantage when compared to '08.

I personally don't think Artest is that critical with the way Gasol is playing. His defense to shut down KG and Rondo in the paint was pretty huge last night. And Paul Pierce is a shadow of his former self.

I agree. The 2 best players on the floor are Gasol and Kobe. Until the Celtics find a way to stop Gasol they won't win a game. Nobody on that team can stop Kobe so they need to let Kobe go off for 30+ and make sure they keep Gasol in check or else this will be over in 4.

Celtics foul trouble definitely helped the Lakers play their style of game last night. The lakers did what they needed to do at home, this game really didn't show anything as the C's will get their calls in Boston. Having Artest on Pierce is going to be the key to this series as I don't expect Pau to dominate the same way he did yesterday in Beantown. Artest now gives the Lakers that "don't f* with me cuz I'll cut you" attitude that C's are notorious for. Him being a bully and taking Pierce out his game will be the key

KG needs to show up for this series if they want to have a chance. He was awful last night.

He's looked increasingly worse since the end of the Cleveland series. Perhaps he's not as healthy as we all thought back then?

What's up guys! HUGE Lakers fan here... We played good game 1 and showed everyone we're not soft. Game 2 will be a lot harder, Boston is going to come out swinging. I think it'll be close all game and Kobe will do his thing at the end, like normal. Go LA!

Not a good idea by Gasol to hurt KGs pride like that. Even though I doubt it'll matter much, but you do not want to give your opponent any extra motivation.

I agree. But the media did blow it way out of proportion... And at least it's KG instead of PP or Ray Allen who can get really hot. KG really has lost a step and isn't the same, he's just a jump shooter and Pau's length messes him up a lot. Not worried about it at all.

    Celtics up 6 at halftime.

Ray Allen tied the record for 3-pointers made in an NBA Finals game with 7. He has the whole second half to break it :D
