I like that FC Tokyo job. Do that up in black & white (or, dare we hope, black and red?) and it'd be the bee's knees. Watch, though: we'll end up with the weird 'backpack' design like on the France/Russia shirts. That's gonna be this year's "thumbprint".
The backpack wouldn't be too bad for a training shirt, but as an actual jersey it reminds me of one of those old video games where the characters have arrows or markings on them pointing to where you need to hit them to defeat them. I'm just imagining a bunch of players leaving games after being hit in the back and dropping to the ground. I wouldn't be totally against a watermark or screen on the shirt again though.
The backpack look is adidas TECHFIT PowerWeb that is incorporated into the jersey that according to adidas will "promote optimal athletic posture, freedom of movement, & explosive muscle support". Each of our players will have an option to wear a jersey with or without this feature. You can't notice the webbing on our jerseys as much when compared to France or Russia. Our blends in a little more with our home black & away white jerseys.
So the "backpack" is a technical feature that is independent of the "visual" design. The Russian jersey has an enlarged part of their emblem's double eagle. So this is a cultural reference and therefore not part of the basic Adidas design. The French jersey has a graphic pattern that could look very nice on the DCUnited jersey. Just change their blue into black and voilà, Le DC United! We just have to find out if that graphic pattern is an FFF exclusive or part of the basic Adidas designs.
get to work on the photoshops using the sports bra design, mr merch here has just told us we will be getting sports bras
Man - adidas seem obsessed with weird chest/back sportsbra designs these days. And I like how we finally found the design characteristics of the new shirt and DCUMerch had to jump on and defend it
If years past are any indication, there will be separate "authentic" and "replica" models of DC United's jersey. Highly doubtful that the latter will come with high tech features, but it may have a sublimated print, kind of like the dots on the lower sides of last year's jerseys.

well, technically neither "we" or he has done any such thing, he just said that adidas will be offering that "feature" with all of its designs next year. Anything else we are reading into (not that BS isn't the place to do that, you just have to be honest about it). This may be the only mock-up I have seen so far in this thread that I actually like. Make it 3 red stripes on the white down the sleeves (for the DC flag) and it's be even sweeter
well, duh. I just meant that I found this one aesthetically pleasing - not that I didn't think the photoshopping wasn't superb in all the others
