well, Servette has yet three tricky matches ahead and next weekend there could be thunderstorms in the Ticino. Locarno is yet fighting to avoid relegation, but to stay in the race, Servette needs to win it. I guess 0-4 is too optimistic. I would be happy just to win this one. Then, at home vs Chiasso a victory is mandatory and I hope that in the last match at Yverdon, Servette have it in their hands to win promotion and Yverdon is already relegated. Tough, the key match for Servette is Locarno.

now, it all depends how Lugano and Vaduz will recover. Vaduz might be capable to get 7 points in the last three matches, but I rather see them winning 4 as you do. However, if they win 7, then Servette needs three victories to pass them. I think Vaduz might just win vs Wohlen, although Wohlen is also trying to get the last points to avoid a relegation struggle. similar scenario for their match vs Aarau. Then, at Lausanne they will struggle to win points. If they win 6 points, Servette and Lausanne need 7 to pass them.

Lugano first has to play at Lausanne. If they don't recover in this match, they will be passed by Lausanne. And in the last round they have a tricky match at Delémont. Lausanne has to beat Lugano to stay in the race and if they do so, then they're surely motivated enough to also beat Vaduz in the following match. However, they match in Biel is tricky yet, but if they beat both Lugano and Vaduz, then they'll also win at Biel.

So, my feeling is that the next round is the most important one. But I also believe, Servette and Lausanne both can win 9 points.

I would take three 1-0 wins for Servette, but I wanted to be a little more optomistic. I was listening to the first half of the match yesterday. I thought that it would be tight to the end, not a 0-6 blowout.

I might go to the Yverdon-Servette match in the last round (can't make any other) - I hope Servette has it in their own hands to make promotion by then

after Vaduz lost yesterday vs Wohlen, I tought that this could be a bad sign for Servette... Dunno how they lost at Locarno, tough. Nevertheless, Lausanne could take the lead tomorrow and then win the race for promotion and Servette would be only 3th or 4th then maybe.

for Servette, it would be best if either Lausanne draws twice or looses to Lugano, but not to Vaduz to finish at least second. There is little chance for Servette now to finish first except if Lugano and Lausanne lose points at Biel and Delémont

The Locarno match had trap game all over it, and that is what happened. An LS draw would be best for Servette. Too bad that they had a great chance to put promotion in their hands, only to see it slip away.

    1. Lugano 27 +22 58
    2. Vaduz 28 +18 57
    3. Lausanne-Sport 27 +31 56
    4. Servette 28 +43 56

Lugano at LS play today. I would prefer a draw because that would make the following.
    1. Lugano 28 +22 59
    2. Lausanne-Sport 28 +31 57
    3. Vaduz 28 +18 57
    4. Servette 28 +43 56

The remaining matches are as follows:
    FC Lausanne-Sport FC Vaduz
    FC Lugano FC Wohlen
    Servette FC FC Chiasso

Servette must win that one and LS-Vaduz draw and Lugano loose. Assuming 1 goal victories and defeats.
That would put the standings as follows:
    1. Servette 29 +44 59
    2. Lugano 29 +21 59
    3. Lausanne-Sport 29 +31 58
    4. Vaduz 29 +18 58

    Final week:
    FC Biel-Bienne FC Lausanne-Sport
    SR Delémont FC Lugano
    FC Vaduz FC Aarau
    Yverdon-Sport FC Servette FC

I would anticipate all 4 teams winning this last week. That would keep the standings with Servette winning and Lugano going to the playoff. That is my dream situation, but with LS in the playoff spot.

Here is what I think will happen. LS wins today.
    1. Lausanne-Sport 28 +32 59
    2. Lugano 28 +21 58
    3. Vaduz 28 +18 57
    4. Servette 28 +43 56

LS defeats Vaduz and Lugano and Servette win.
    1. Lausanne-Sport 29 +33 62
    2. Lugano 29 +22 61
    3. Servette 29 +44 59
    4. Vaduz 29 +17 57

That would leave a lot of things would have to go Servette's way the last week. The LS/Lugano match is huge today.

Would be absolutely thrilled if Servette were promoted, Lausanne would be really nice as well. Would not be good for Ticinese fottball though (granted that Bellinzona will be demoted).

    2. Lugano 28 +20 58
    3. Vaduz 28 +18 57
    4. Servette 28 +43 56

LS wins with 3 goals in the last 20 min 3-1.

    FC Lausanne-Sport FC Vaduz
    FC Lugano FC Wohlen
    Servette FC FC Chiasso

I hope that Wohlen plays as well as they have been the past few weeks. If Servette does not get promoted through either way, it will not be just the Locarno match, but all of their poor showings against the lower table teams away. They had some really bad losses.

Lausanne and Servette won, Lugano with a draw

    so, it's now Lausanne 62
    Servette 59
    Lugano 59

if Lausanne gets a draw or Servette doesn't win, they should be in SL
Servette needs to win in Yverdon without Eudis (4 match ban) and without Esteban (left the Locarno match injured) to finish second and with a bit of luck maybe even first

if Servette finishes second, they will also have to play without Eudis and Esteban in the playoffs

Thank you Wohlen!!! Servette fans need to really thank this team for their inspired play over the past month. Here is the situation:

    1. Lausanne-Sport 29 +35 62
    2. Servette 29 +46 59
    3. Lugano 29 +20 59
    4. Vaduz 29 +16 57

    The scenarios:
    Lausanne-Sport
Will win the DCL and automatic promotion with:
    1. A win against Biel-Bienne on 25 May.
    2. A draw agsinst Biel-Beinne on 25 May.
    3. A loss against Beil-Bienne on 25 May and Servette loss against Yverdon-Sport.
    4. A loss against Beil-Bienne on 25 May and Servette loss against Yverdon-Sport and a Lugano victory over Delemont of less than 15 goals.

Will get second place in the DCL and enter the playoff with the 9th placed ASL team if:
    1. A loss to Biel-Bienne and a Servette victory and Lugano does not win by over 15 goals.

    Servette
Will win the DCL and automatic promotion with:
    1. A win over Yverdon-Sport by any number of goals, and a Lausanne Sport loss. The Lugano match is insignificant in the calculation.

Will get second place in the DCL and enter the playoff with the 9th placed ASL team if:
    1. Servette wins over Yverdon, and LS wins over Biel-Bienne.
    2. If Servette wins, the Lugano match is insignificant.
    3. A loss to Yverdon, and a loss by Lugano and a draw or loss by Vaduz.

    Lugano
Will win the DCL and automatic promotion with:
    1. A victory by 15 goals or more over Delemont and a LS loss and Servette loss.

Will get second place in the DCL and enter the playoff with the 9th placed ASL team if:
    1. Lugano win over Delemont and a loss or draw by Servette against Yverdon.
    2. A draw with Delemont and a loss by Servette and a loss or draw by Vaduz at home against Aarau.

    Vaduz
Will win the DCL and automatic promotion with:
    1. Not possible.

Will get second place in the DCL and enter the playoff with the 9th placed ASL team if:
    1. Vaduz defeats Aarau and Servette and Lugano loose.
    2. Vaduz defeat of Aarau by more than 30 goals in the process and Servette draw and Lugano loose.
    3. Vaduz defeat of Aarau by more than 30 goals in the process and Servette draw and Lugano draw.

Essentially I plan on seeing LS winning and Servette coming in second.

In other news, Evian-Thonnan-Gaillard will be promoted. I can assume that we will hear lots of discussion about them playing at the Stade de Geneve. I would love to see both ETG and Servette playing at their respective highest national league levels in the Stade de Geneve.

    One final thought:
A quick look back at the Servette losses from the year shows where they slipped up:
    1-3 loss at Winterthur
    0-1 loss at FC Schaffhouse
    1-2 loss vs. LS
    1-2 loss at FC Chiasso
    0-2 loss vs Lugano
    2-3 loss at Locarno

ouch, this is making things difficult. Eudis has yet a 2 match ban, Esteban injured, Varela injured, Karanovic injured, Sana injured...

at least M'Futi and defender Mendes come back from injury

this weekend the playoff vs Bellinzona away and next Tuesday at home... would have liked to watch the Switzerland-Spain U-19 elite round match in Lausanne on Tuesday

The key for this will be how can Servette deal with all of their injuries, and suspensions. If both teams are at full strength, Servette wins going away. Lustrinelli scares me.

Kouassi and Pizzinat should be back vs Bellinzona. Else, there is Pedro Mendes who is back already. In attack, Eudis suspension has been reduced from 4 to 2 matches :) so he can play in Bellinzona

    ACB - SFC underway
5th minute: De Azevedo hits the post
8th minute: penalty for Bellinzona, Lustrinelli hits the bar, yellow for Gonzales

Lustrinelli may play although he has a match ban, because Bellinzona just made an appeal. Maybe he will be disallowed to play the rematch. Besides, Varela is back in full training and available next Tuesday
