UEFA has refused for Evian-Thonnan-Gaillard to play in Geneve. They are looking at Annecy for their home.
    http://www.etgfc.com/2010/06/08/stade-de-geneve-refus-de-luefa/

The main reason seems to be that they do not want other clubs to schedule "Home" matches away from home. It seems that this would have opened a door that UEFA did not want to go through.

Lugano named as the main contender for promotion followed by Vaduz

then, Aarau has surely the possibility to move back up

Servette depends a bit on an additional 2 or 3 attacking players. Sana will join them after the U-19 European Championship he is currently playing with Portugal. But, then still another 2 players would be needed.

Lausanne could do much better than last season. Maybe Winterthur can also do something.

Lugano, Servette and Lausanne confirmed their ambitions whilst Vaduz and Winterthur did not look to good losing high to Servette and Lausanne.

As Portugal's U-19 is out of the EC, Sana should join Servette this week. That will make them even stronger. And I guess Tozé's contract is renewed in attack as no other striker has been signed. Maybe a sign, neither MFuti nor Esteban will join Servette.

    Nyonnais 1 -3 0
    16. Winterthur 1 -4 0

I think that Winterthur and Vaduz will be fine, but the surprise for me was Stade Nyonnais. They tried hard to become a more professional club in the off season. Those who could not make the expanded commitment, it looks like it will be another season battling relegation for then.

Stade Nyonnais looked really weak in the friendly against Servette which they lost 1-5 and Servette was not convincing that much in that match. So, they really will fight for relegation and I fear they even might not avoid it if there is no impulse during the first half of the season

Servette's chairman want to build a youth academy for 30mio at Balexert. Servette hadn't done much for the youth in the past. This would be anohter big step forward to a long term better situation for the club

Stade Nyonnais played a little better this weekend. Servette missed a PK and dominated Biel-Bienne. Vaduz digs a bigger hole for themselves, so does Winterthur. I am not sure which is a bigger surprise, the struggles of Winterthur or Vaduz.

With the additions of M'Futi and Esteban, I would think that Servette has to be the favorite for promotion. I know it is early, but there is a very different feeling around Servette this season than last fall.

Eudis is suffering from a pubalgia, so it's good having Esteban back. And I'm very curious to set what Sana can do

6 teams with 6 points as Lausanne won 2-0 in Wil against another outsider

LS now have 3 days to prepare the match against Randers. Hope they relax a bit tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The pre-season preparation has been quite good so the main focus should now be on being match fit on Thursday

the next round sees Lugano vs Kriens both with 6 points, Delémont vs Schaffhausen both with 6 points, Lausanne vs Yverdon will also be a match for the top of the table

Servette vs Nyonnais will see Servette as the clear favs.

Wil vs Vaduz and Biel vs Winterthur will see four of the outsiders for promotion who all haven't won in the first two rounds

the remaining two matches are two derbys, Locarno vs Chiasso and Aarau vs Wohlen. While Aarau wants to fight for promotion, the goal of the others must be to avoid relegation this season

Nice win by LS. They have really played well. I wonder who put the scheduling where they play on Monday instead of Sunday. I understand that Saturday would have been pushing it, but better than Monday.

Although I usually cheer against LS, I will be all for them this week.

The Tessin Derby should be an interesting one. Although Servette should be a heavy favorite, they always seem to play poorly against Stade Nyonnais.
21.10.07 a 1-2 loss in the Swiss Cup
    16.08.08 a 0-1 loss in league play.
    07.03.09 a 0-0 draw in league play.
    12.09.09 a 0-2 loss in league play.
    27.03.10 a 3-1 victory in league play.

Not a good recent record in matches that matter. Yes this is a much better Servette team, but this feels like the classic trap match. One that a team should win, but might struggle.

This weekend is shaping up with quite a few good matches.

Servette had 4782 for the match vs Stade Nyonnais. They look like the real thing. I hope that next week at Winterthur, the same team that has been playing for both teams shows up. The good one for Servette, and the bad one for Winterthur. This looked to be a really big match early in the season, that has all changed now.

hope, Servette has Sana available for Winterthur who was not qualified yet against Nyonnais and maybe Esteban who has been training individually for whatever reason. Servette has a 10 victories in a row now. This did not happen since 1979! Tough, it's going to be a difficult match at Winterthur.

Lausanne is stronger than 3 weeks ago in my eyes as I said in the Euroleague thread. But Steuble had to leave the pitch after 10mins.

So, maybe Servette will finally have it's playmaker this week while Lausanne is losing theirs.

Vaduz and Winterthur and also Wil will try to strike back. Aarau and Lugano are confirming they are favourites for promotion as well. Delémont surprising and with Johnny Szlykowicz proving his talent. He only looked to me a bit lazy when I saw him at Xamax, so maybe if he would work harder he could not even play in Superleague, but in Ligue 1. Schaffhausen with Valente who scored his 5th and 6th was a valuable opponent last weekend. Valente reminds me a bit of Ferreira. He is often decisive. Why hasn't he ever received a better contract and why didn't he stay at Lugano?

Servette still with a reduced squad at Winterthur

Sana is qualified now but out 1 month
    Esteban is still not ready
Maric, Routis, Schlauri still injured and now also Soares. So we probably will see the same team as against Nyonnais

Servette with a crushing defeat of Kriens. LS with a very nice away victory at Lugano. They are playing very well right now. I know that this is getting ahead of ourselves, but it would be very nice if both LS and Servette were promoted. Nyonnais picks up a surprise point in an away draw at Delemont.

glad Esteban gave his comeback. His goal was easy but he had to be there... then he won a penalty he missed...

guess, Sana should be ready again soon, although he also misses the Wil match injured. It looks promising for Servette, tough.

Lausanne will have more Euroleague matches and surely will be a bit tired against Biel and are suffering some minor injuries after all the matches. They possibly could suffer a bit from having more matches than Servette or Lugano

Lugano are having a dery against Locarno tonight. And those have often been trickier than expected over the last years
