If Cameroon win today there is possible that Japan goes through even with a loss against Denmark right? First they look at goal difference then they look who won against who??

yep. its 1-0 now. don't worry if cameroon have the midfield technical quality to dominate denmark then so do japan. As long as Okada does the homework and makes a couple strategic changes, they don't even have to be personel.

He should do the homework on denmark because in just the last 4 matches there is plenty of evidence to show that they don't do well when their back four are put under pressure and aren't technically good enough to deal with that without resorting to teh long ball. on the other hand defensively japan don't appear to have these gaps that would really spring out to olsen as clearly lacking.

A draw will be enough. Come on Japan. Get it done.

Isn't it a must win now?

Denmark has scored more goals than Japan so even with a tie Japan would not go on.

Its goal difference first. Then goals scored. How important were Kuyt and Kawashima!!

Not a bad result. Denmark 2-1 Cameroon.

Means we go through if we get a draw or win.

Also, Simon Kjaer is disqualified from the japan game which is good.
Infact i'm really really surprised with the goal difference situation and all that when Denmark took the lead they were pretty content to sit back.

    This is the best scenario.

Destiny to the next round is in Japan's hands and Japan's hands only.

And only a draw is needed. This is something even the 0-top can accomplish.
Although we'll probably pee our pants if its 0-0 with 8 minutes left.

Danmark does not look good at all but this is going to be a thriller!!!!!!!!.

Same great performance by the team is needed again.

One good thing for Japan is that Denmarks CB Simon Kjaer is suspended for this game.

It is a very favorable position but be careful what you wish for and take nothing for granted.

Hi there I'm a Scottish man who is also a fan of Japan ( not just the football team) so I am loving the fact that the teams destiny is in their own hands right now. The Denmark result was actually perfect as it leaves you in a good position with goal difference and only needing a draw. Surely the public can give Okada a break now, he's set his teams up to play well so far

I have a bad feeling Japan will lose. You can say it's a good thing that only a draw is needed but might this mean that at stages the team's approach will be more defensive? They're in the slightly more commanding position, while Denmark have no choice but to attack. No choice. Their heads are clear. There's something relaxing about that while for Japan, how do they go about it? Denmark will win, I think.

^ lol yes, go for the win.

If Japan play as well as they did with the Dutch, then this should be really not too hard as the Danes are a mainly defensive team that rely on counterattacks, which won't really work on Japan who I think rely on pretty much the same thing,

No if Japan use the same tactics as with Cameroon and Holland, it will be 3 times in a row and Denmark's coach is clearly not stupid.
Denmark have lots of tall players. It's an easy approach to break a defensive team like Japan : long ball and cross. I can imagine Denmark will cross like mad for 90', and 1 moment of mistake will make Japan suffer.
I want Japan to score, how a team qualifies the group stage scoring just 1 goal

Hard luck to Japan vs. the Dutch today. The team fought well and seemed to frustrate Holland.

I hope you advance out of your group. Best of luck.

Even though I dislike the Japanese NT I can see them getting to the 2nd round.

The Danes are slow and they need the result, Japan can hit them on the counter with Okubo or whoever.
