Re: INCOMING!!!!!! the 2009 J League Transaction thread Please use this thread for transfers and off the field news during the upcoming season. I want to keep J1 Thread for competition related talks only.
Right. Upcoming transfers. look out for: Plymouth Argyle looking for cheapish but talented Japanese players, apparently they want Keita Suzuki (they don't have the money), and Robert Cullen (again not enough money). Atsuto Uchida linked with Hoffenheim, Dinamo Kiev, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV. Mizuno likely to go somewhere (not necessarily japan, maybe holland) Kagawa will get offers left right and centre from J1, Europe etc.
Would it be possible to have a seperate rumor thread? I put that in the first post to kinda not get the unfounded rumors mixed in with actual signings It's just hard to wade through all of the stuff If we do have to combine the thread can we at least have links to somebody from one of the clubs or a newspaper thanks........
Kawasaki Kyohei Noborizato MF Kagawa Nishi HS* Yokohama FM Manabu Saito FW Yokohama FM youth* Jin Hanato MF "" "" "" "" * Albirex Masaaki Higashiguchi GK Niigata ????? University *
Really Mizuno?? Is there anything on this beyond the terrible scottish press? I'd love to see Mizuno in Eredivisie. *** If we make a separate thread separating stuff, please move this post. (I'm partial to keeping them separated myself)

Hoffenheim would be good for Uchida they concentrate on a youth talented team and they got a well working system with enough money to buy him.

so who's gonna raid Cerezo now? Kagawa,Kakitani,Maeda,Shiratani,Komatsu,Furuhashi,Germano....atleast half of those will probably leave if we stay in J2. and Morishima will probably stay in Oita.
Kagawa should leave and Kakitani should stay for one more season. Kagawa is ready for a bigger club, maybe Gamba? Kakitani is still too young i think. One year as a regular starter would help more, than a part-time sub in J1.
Shunsuke comes back?????? http://j-league.theoffside.com/j-league-news/shunsuke-nakamura-is-coming-home.html#comment-35
"a transfer in the range of €6.5" Damn. What's the highest xfer fee to JLeague ever? That is a lot of money to buy out 6 months of a contract.
I think Yuki Abe was the biggest transfer ever so far. Shunsuke's passes that by a long way. That is such a crap investment when they could wait until June window to buy him for free.
Exactly. It makes an off-form Takahara look like a steal for what ... about 1m ? That's a lot of money that doesn't solve Marinos' problems (namely a predatory goalscorer) -- they seem to hold possession fine. They could go without Shunsuke Nakamura starting for the first half of the season (while he's resting up after a full year) if they spent some of that money on a Takahara, Ganaha, Bando, Davi, or [fill in obligatory Brazilians from relegated teams and Brazil] or blooded Havenaar.
I think Kobe or Kyoto (especially Vissel) would be better destinations for them if they are to stay in Kansai. Honestly, it seems very hard to make a breakthru at Gamba. Look at players such as Kodama (Shimizu) or Mizumoto (Sanga and U23 NT).... What about Fukumoto? they all did well elsewhere, but at Gamba they barely had a chance... Sanfrecce could be another good club to be with, next season, if they can keep up the enthusiasm and buy well.
who's writing on that theoffside site really? it's damn good! next to goal.com, it's the best site around for general J.League news .
Uchida won't move to Europe. He said he didn't want to live outside Japan and had no intention of seeking a move to Europe anytime in the future. I think he is wise.
Considering the sad fact that the returners from Europe are always crap (Remember Ono, Takahara, Oguro, Koji, Yanagisawa in 2006-07, Okubo in 2006 etc), I believe the deal is a gamble.
I think it's fair to say there is an adjustment period -- but Yanagi and Okubo have now turned good. Takahara, Alex, and Ono made the mistake of going to Urawa. Koji a similar mistake with Kashima. Oguro is only just back so it's hard to judge him -- other than to say there is an adjustment period. But I'd also point out -- everyone you listed came back with their tail between their legs. Shunsuke isn't exactly in that situation. But for 6.5m... anything is a gamble.
Basically it looks like when one returns from Europe, he better: 1 - Do not go back to his old club and/or 2 - Do not go to a top club.
