Lol but what's the use when the champions aren't in the World cup. LOL.

    Just kidding. ;)

Anyways surely you would accept the FACT that the 2010 World cup is more important than the Confederation cup 2009. Don't you?

Why are so many star players for Iraq sitting on the bench? (Karrar, Younes, Emad, Noor Sabri)??

Nah, I doubt that's the reason.

I have to say they're holding up pretty well.

    Iraq terribly wasted set-piece opportunity.

Spain were beginning to wear them down towards the end there.

Some rested for NZ, some simply because they are terrible these days.

Iraq are playing so well but they ruin it all when they grass roll like that from the keeper

Spain will come out more aggressive in the 2nd half for sure. We will see. Holding the explosive Spanish offense scoreless for the half is a good feat for any Asian side.

They played good defense but were horrible up front, actually Iraq were as useless as New Zealand in Spain's half...the only difference being that Iraq was solid at the back

Defence seemed improving. In next game Bora can emphasize Offence tactic.
Then if Iraq can advance, I think they can show better performance(more attacking) agasint Brazil or Itally. :)

Thank you all for your supporting. :)

Congratulations Spain and hard luck Iraq.

We played against the best team in the world (FIFA Ranking's #1 team of the world) so for me this is a great result. :)

Bora is truly a Genius coach and everything is going by his plan.. now all we have to do is score more than 2 goals against New Zealand and wait for Spain to win against South Africa.

They looked a lot better after Younes came on. He was through on goal but Karrar refused to play it through for him (even I was p*ssed lol).

    What's the go with Iraq?

Virtually parking a bus in front of goal and not really too interested in creating goals.

You are on the World Stage to show what you've got and all you want to do in your first 2 games is minimize "damage control". Fair enough if you're putting together a strategy for an upcoming WC or AC but you have nothing to play for for the next 2 years. Go out and be flamboyant and play with confidence Iraq, like you were in the 2007 AC. That's how you won that tournament.

A 0-1 loss to Spain would be creditable .................. if it was because you tried to play football with them.
