expecting the same 3 teams on top the next season.

Zurich could buy Margairaz. Very calm on the transfer front so far, but there is still some danger losing players. Hope Abdi stays one more season for the CL and for the World Cup.

Basel is surely the contender no1 once again. Hope to see some of the young guys like Xhaka, Shaqiri, Klose or Unal. Then good transfers with Inkoom and Cagdas. Big question mark for Da Silva, tough. Interested if Almerares gets a chance like in the test matches.

YB clever on the transfer market. Sutter and with the time also Pasche will be good for the team. Not so important they lost Schwegler and Varela therefore. Very important they kept Doumbia, Hochstrasser and Doubai!

Therefore, sorry for the other teams. But again, the rest will fight for 4th place.

Wondering what's happening between Sion and the FIFA.

And waiting for the formula of the season after to come out.

I think that this is the year for YB. This is the season that they break the stranglehold on the championship of GCZ, FCZ and FCB.

The other night, my son and I were talking about various styles of football in Europe. As we talked, our conversation turned to Switzerland. We had to admit that neither of us had seen a Swiss club play, not in a Super League match nor a UEFA Cup (Europa Cup) match.

Our question is, "How would you define or describe the style of football played in the Super League?". By that we mean, is it a northern European style, more direct and physical, or a Latin style, slower, tactical, with more ball movement?

We don't know and figured this would be a good source to find out.

Hi there - I'd say it's a mix of it, Swiss Germans tend more to play in a German style and Swiss French more in a French style

FCZ and FCB are punished for the 17 May 2009 Match and will play one home match without any fans. In addition, FCZ must pay 80000 CHF. I wonder if the clubs get to choose the match?

Whoa, tomorrow? That's way sooner than I was expecting. I assume they start so early because of the long winter break?

GC picked-up where they left off last season. St. Gallen looked very, very good. Huggel still unable to control his temper. You'd have thought he'd have grown up by now.

From a Swiss perspective, this season is looking really exciting. Yakin, Vonlanthen, Frei etc.

But what about the new young stars?
Shaqiri and Sahin look like they will be getting lots of playing time in Basel. Affolter is still 1st choice at YB and Ben Khalifa scored today for GC.

Who do you guys think will be the first player to debut for Hitzfeld this year?

Can't forget Koch, Daprela, Rolf Feltscher and Pasche.

FCZ plays a very tricky match against FCSG. I just wonder if this early season poor showing will hurt their chances? I hate to count them out already, but if they do not get something out of the match tonight, they will have a very difficult time. Spotting YB or FCSG 7 points, having already played both at home, not a good situiation. FCZ really needs to do well tonight. That being said, I am pulling for FCSG.

FCZ with a second win in a row and Frei killing Sion's dreams in the 90th minute. FCSG and YB still playing well.
