I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the newest Whitecaps: Vincente Arze. If interested, here are the links to each write up. Vincente Arze: http://www.soccercityfc.com/2008/02/usl-look-vincente-arze.html

Here is the Wheeler write up. I am happy to see that he might start blogging about his experience. http://www.soccercityfc.com/2008/02/usl-look-andrew-wheeler_05.html
Bob Lenarduzzi hinted that they were in talks with a "Major" premiership team. I'm praying for Liverpool and I think it's a Distant possability because of the success of LA Galaxy at BC Place. Although I think I heard Chelsea is coming over this year. United is in Asia I believe and I don't know what Arsenal's doing. Of course he could have ment a mid-pack team
On the news today they reported they are definitely working on bringing an EPL team over and the three mentioned were Everton, Aston Villa, or West Ham.
West ham United will play Whitecaps http://cmonyuirons.isgreat.org/2008/02/14/west-ham-start-usa-games-in-may/
and doesnt May seem a little early to anyone else? You'd think the ideal time would be July, in the middle of summer, and more importantly after Euro and not just right after the end of the EPL season.

Japanese midfielder Takashi Hirano, whose nickname is Lefty Monster, has been training with the United Soccer Leagues First Division team and played in a weekend exhibition against the University of Victoria (0-0 draw). Hirano, 33, acquired his nickname for his cannonading left-footed drives. He has spent his entire career in the Japanese League and played for his country in the 1998 World Cup, appearing in two games as a substitute. He also trained with Arsenal of the Premier League in 2000 and 2005. The Whitecaps did announce Tuesday the re-signing of defenders Adrian Cann and Diaz Kambere to one-year, plus-option contracts. Cann, 6-3 and 184 pounds, will be entering his third season with the Caps. In 2007, he started 25 of 26 matches, led the team in minutes played with 2,253 and was selected as its outstanding defender. The 27-year-old from Thornhill, Ont., has one senior national team cap. Kambere, 22, is also entering his third season with the Whitecaps. The 5-9 native of Uganda moved to Canada in 1992 and calls Surrey home. Kambere is one of 20 players selected to Canada's U-23 Olympic squad that is attempting to qualify for this summer's Olympics in Beijing. He played his youth soccer in Vancouver and Coquitlam and attended Langara College and Trinity Western University, where he helped the Spartans claim back-to-back Canada West championships in 2005 and '06. The Whitecaps open their 2008 regular season April 12 at home against the Montreal Impact. confirmed on whitecapsfc.com </H3>
Sorry to interrupt, but I have started a request thread for the inclusion of Vancouver and Montréal sob-boards over in the MLS expansion board - if you want to see it, please post your approval in that thread!
Surprising to see how quiet this thread is - where are the 'Caps fans? Anyway, they will have mugh to talk about tomorrow, as they take on the Impact at Stade Saputo, in the NCC.
