Hi guys, sorry as i can begin a new thread,i post here

i'm new here and i have few questions, so let me introduce first
I'm 26 and play semi pro football in France and i 'm french too.
I'm planning to move in the US end of January 09 and tryout for differents clubs around the us.
    So my questions are:

1:is it difficult for french footballers to tryout in football clubs in the US?
2:can i just do some "walk in"?or better send emails/Phone before going ?
3:What is the level of NPSL comparing here in Europe.?
4:is there a lot of foreigners in football club in the US??

in any case thanks for you help guys:)

    1) tryouts are usually availabe starting in November.
    2. Phone minimum before you just show up.
    3. NPSL v Europe = Hard to say, but its amateur footballl. No money.
    4) Yes

    1. I would think that they would love to have you

    2. Phone 1st

    3. NPSL is our Serie D (but our Serie D is several rungs less talented than the real Serie D)

    4. A growing number. I would imagine that they would be thrilled to have a semi-pro from there playing here.

Atlanta FC has a very international roster including a player from France and some 14 or 15 other countries.

Atlanta Silverbacks has players from Trinidad & Tobago, Senegal, Chile, Liberia, England, and Mexico.

So lower level pro & higher level amateur clubs certainly have a number foreign players. Of course I think most of them have been living and working in the US for some time and many have their US citizenship or have green cards instead of work visas.

Are you guys aware of any players, besides Ryan Guy, who have gone from the NPSL to Europe? I'm working on starting a new team in the Poconos and with setting up relationships overseas. Thanks for any help...

Andrew Jacobson (FC Lorient, now loaned to a lower division team I believe) played for the Redwood City Ruckus in 2006. Steve Purdy (1860 Munich II) played for the Sonoma County Sol in 2005 and the Redwood City Ruckus in 2006.

Yeah, but these guys didnt go pro, because they played in the NPSL. They turned pro because they played for Cal. Those NPSL teams had nothing to do with them getting to where they are now.

Has anybody heard of the new Hayward based team in California called the Embassadors? They are supposed to start playing next year at Chabot College.
