With tryouts well under way, the revival of the infamous "Fuego Dance Team", and the return of the "Brazilian Trio", Fresno looks to initiate the 2008 PDL season with a bang versus San Francisco Seals at home...

Last years 2007 season ended in Laredo with a disappointing 1-0 loss at the "shoe box"...but, that's history and this is a new year.

The fans in the valley are eager, the ticket sales are up, and the team is hungrier than the 2003 run to the 4th round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. FYI: That was the year that made history for Fresno Fuego by beating El Paso Patriots(then USL-1) 5-2 and earning a meeting with powerhouse LA Galaxy, which ended their run 3-1.

Fresno Fuego has earned their respect in the USL and abroad... It is a team with a vision and anticipation for success. Know that when you come to our house you will be treated with class and respect...and by the time you leave our headquarters, you will leave with admiration and knowledge of how professionalism is determined.

Good Luck to you all this 2008 season and can't wait to see my old friends back on the pitch... God Bless!

With all of the changes in the division/conference last year, it's a credit to the Fuego that they still finished up at the top. With the new teams, I think there seemed to be a more spread of talent across the teams. You saw a down season for both Orange County and the SeaHorses. Kudos to Fresno to continue to improve both on and off the field. :D

    Hola Mauser!

Good luck for the 2008 season... Quakes and Fuego for the playoffs again - but we want the Division this year ;)

Looks like we won't be meeting up until July, though... 2 big games in 8 days my friend! :) Although, looking at the schedule, you're playing Ventura on May 30th... I'll have to come along and cheer on your boys!

    Hey SangreAzul :)

Amaury Nunes went to Chicago Storm from the Major Indoor Soccer League. I don't think any Fuego players went to MLS.

    Hey Sheff,

Getting ready for the season? Oddly enough, we play both you and Fresno only once this season. I think both away.

I thought I would see a couple of Fuego go to at least USL 1.

Yeah, I noticed that. We play you at Negoesco on June 14. But, yeah, gearing up... we're having our pre-season staff meeting soon, getting everything ready. We're going to be missing two of our best players, Franklin and Zaher, after they got drafted, but hopefully we will have a couple of decent new talents coming through the ranks to fill their boots :) Lets hope 08 is as competitive as 07 was, eh? What a finish to the regular season that was! :)

butlerbob- you always have a keen eye for this game... looking forward toward your input... introduce yourself the next time we see one another... i always travel with the team...

sangreazul- what can i say my friend? no fuego players are leaving us. these boys aren't only interested in winning on the pitch but also have a great head on their shoulders... they will not leave until it's worth the ticket! fuego eventually will offer more than any other franchise out there so, it's a great decision either way... looking forward in seing each other again...

Not sure if I will make it out to your area this summer. If I do, it will probably be your game with the SeaHorses. Hope you guys have a good season other then when you play them. :D

Good luck with everything in Fresno. I wish every team was run like yours. If I were you I'd try and start some kind of program/teaching method where you guys kind of gave a run down on how to do things in this league at the Tampa meeting.

    shelts-

    thanks for the props!

last november in tampa, we had a representative of the fuego organization give a seminar on how we run operations... to my knowledge, the pdl staff had to put a stop to the Q&A session because time ran out and others had to do their own presetation...

we are open to any organization...especially if it is going to help soccer grow interest...

    good luck this season!

Fuego says good-bye to a long time dedicated GM...

The Fuego, going into their 6th season in the PDL are looking forward to new horizons.

It is unfortunate but, the game must go on and Fuego is ready!!!

This years season opener is the PDL's first game of the year. San Francisco Seals come to Chukchansi Park on April 26, 2008 7pm...

    See you there!!!

I really like the new shield. I like the layout for the new site, now you just need content. I'm also one of those folks that think if you don't have content on a certain page, leave out the link or disable it. Also, in addition to providing a calendar version of the schedule could you also provide a basic list? That way someone doesn't have to go month to month to view the schedule. But overall like the new layout and structure.
