Here's a great spot! Maradona visited the Man Utd training ground, and Tevez is pictured wearing blue/yellow Nike ID Legends. Perhaps in Boca colours to impress El Diego? GettyLink
Nope - they are boots that have been designed in a competition and he will be wearing them for the match on Saturday. Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas will all be sporting Nike iD too.
Good timing though! I see Rooney's are red/black Lasers, and Ferdinand's look somewhat blue. We'll have to see if Walcott manages to make an appearance. In other Leagues, Souleymane Diawara, of Bordeaux is wearing Pantafolo d'Oro's. They look super smart.
To continue the above, the top boots submitted can be found here: http://nikeid.nike.com/nikeid/index...Z1SBT2ICQFTBFCF3Y?_requestid=2503659#/gallery The players will be wearing the following (ignore the rank numbers):
some of them are really stupid, i mean why would rooney have black, blue and red boots with a white kit? and a few of the others too like cesc's, black and red...
Also note how Giggs's Sprintfits have no lace cover, unless he is actually wearing the Lites on a new colorway...
Sorry to go slightly OT, but do those pictures get anyone else wondering how the hell Peter Shilton let himself get outjumped by that little munchkin?
also rooney wearing those horrible lasers 2s. notice that in the comptetition page i think there is an aggressive shot shield and in the match they were standard. but they were lasers, not customs. and strangley, ferdinand's are k-leather
walcott: i think you can make out red laces but they were defo ice sls. if you look very, very closely, you might be able to tell that the carbon fibre heel is a shade of blue. edit 2: yup, the middle of the heel which is usually white was blue. gallas was also wearing ice sls. edit: fabregas wearing red/black legends:
Rooney, Ferdinand, Fabregas, Gallas and Walcott had to wear them cause of the NikeID competition i think.
All those ones made by the compitition winners are AWFUL. Its as if they have tried to jam as many colours in there as they possibly can!! appleCORR
I know, they could have at least tried to make them match the kits! The only decent ones were Tevez's and Fabregas' ones. Those two were nice, but apart from those, the rest were just hideous. Just as well they only had to wear them for that game.
Although the colourways did not work well with the kits, Nike's exercise in marketing was succesful in that the boots definitely stood out (although that may have been that I was watching a match in HD for once). I think Tevez's pair was absolutely awesome, and Fabregas's Legends being red was quite novel.
