Pickens, Barrett, and Dasan are getting robbed.

Carr, Armas, and Bedroussian are making out like bandits.

I wonder what kind of incentives Marvell Wynne has.

Bedrossian makes a lot. My guess is that after we cool off a bit, Bedrossian will be worked into the starting 11. I know this has been brought up before, elsewhere, but hopefully as right mid.

Does anybody else find it refreshing, yet shocking, that after so much secrecy by MLS regarding salaries (the Washington Post last year being our only semi-reliable source for salary reporting), that the Players' Union decided to publish the salaries?

    I really like that idea.

Hard to believe that Blanco is making more than Angel.

If we figure Blanco's salary in English football terms (by week, not by year), he is making $51,284.19 (26,700 pounds) per week. That is a staggering amount.

Let's hope he is worth it, both at the gate (which he should be) and on the field (and watching Club America a bit, he seems to still have it).

    Thorton, Zach - 57,600
    Busch, Jon - 58,008

What was the point then?

At the time, Busch wasn't available.

Not to mention at this point, Busch is...
    a) Better, and
    b) Less Surly

Thornton was great for many years and a key part of our early success, but I'm content with them spending $400/year more on a better goalie.

How do you live on $12,900? The minimum should be at least $25,000.
Beckham makes 6,500,004. Why did they add the 4 cents?

How is DC under the cap? They have to have 4 or 5 players making over 200,000.

Also, Zach may have ultimately taken less money than he wanted from the Fire. If a team offers you a fraction of what you had been making, you may feel insulted and walk away. If your prospects are beginning to look a little bleak, you may be willing to take that money from someone else, minus the hurt feelings.

I'm not sure how I feel about making more money than most people on the team. And Jim Curtin has extra expenses, as I think he still has to house his brother. ;-P

Zach was making more last season, he took a pay cut to get a job w/ Colorado. (Coz covered this)

Also, Columbus is still paying some of Busch's salary as far as I am aware.

I'm guessing Blanco's salary is based more upon the value he brings to marketing, ticket sales, shirt sales, than on his playing ability. Not saying he's a bad player, but the fact he's making more than Angel is due to his potential impact among Mexican-American fans.

So you're telling me one Blanco is worth ten Freds? If you managed to put ten guys like Fred in this league you would definitely up the excitement level; A LOT more than one guy, no matter who he is. WTF is this league thinking?

    Ching on 200k.....that's just baffling.

2.6mil....yea....additional fans in all stadiums where Blanco plays....will bring 10.2mil....(guesstimate)

Blanco is a great player, sure, but for the growth of the league, he is also a huge draw.

So 200,000 extra tickets sold? 5,000 extra tickets for 40 games? Maybe.

Fred is good and gives it 120% in the first half but damn does he dog it out in the second half. (Fred from DC U correct?)

Do the minimum salary players get some kind of housing and or meal assistance? If not, they must get lots of help from loans and family to survive in the big city.
