I'm trying to sign up for Match Live and it looks like the link isn't working. Any one else having that problem?
Match Live isn't working? Or the signup link isn't working? Anyway, sorry, but I'm still registered from last year and then I'm on an auto-renewal plan, so hopefully that'll go through with no problems. Oh, one thing to mention about getting World is you can not only listen to QPR games, but to any game on their network, so if there's a late game you're interested in, you can check that out. You don't get to watch other teams' videos unless you pay a higher price for a service that covers them all, but you can click between all of their audio broadcasts. It sometimes comes in handy when there's a problem with the QPR feed and you can still listen to the game on the other team's feed.
Good news!... Setanta dropped the egg-chasing and they're showing the Championship live tomorrow afternoon...
For those that don't have a subscription... I have to say that I'm loving Setanta Broadband. I ordered it this weekend before the matches started (I don't have satellite at home). Watched the Premiership while listening to QPR, watched the Wolves-Watford match. Now I'm, listening/taking-a-peek at the Southampton LC match as I work. Fantastic! Though I'm very lucky that nothing is blocked online at my office.
The Club have apologized to fans who could not access the live commentary audio on Saturday... Sounds like the club themselves were none too pleased with the error in PTV's side. Quite frankly. PTV were probably doing us a favor in sparing (some of) us the torture of listening to that performance.
"A server failure at Premium TV in Feltham resulted in 'World' services being knocked out across all 78 Clubs on the PTV network." Oddly, I never lost the broadcast. I logged in a bit early (15 minutes or so) and never lost my connection. Strange. So, I guess the ability to log on was knocked out, but the feed itself kept going.
Some confirmation from Sky on our televised fixtures later this autumn... Sun September 30 WBA v QPR Sky Sports 1 1pm (UK time) Mon October 8 QPR v Norwich (7.45pm) (UK) Sky Sports 1 7.30pm Sat October 27 Charlton v QPR (12.45pm) (UK) Sky Sports 1 12.15pm What we're not sure of is Setanta's plans to show these matches here in the US. I would imagine that the Norwich match would definitely be on, since that will be a Monday afternoon. The West Brom match is a good possibility, since there are no early Premiership matches on that particular Sunday. The same is true for the Charlton match. No early Premiership... fingers crossed we could get ALL of these live on Setanta!
So it looks like we're out of luck on Setanta showing the West Brom match on the 30th They're airing an egg-chaser World Cup match at 8:30am EST instead... http://130.94.23.190/SSUSA_live_schedule.htm
Replay, maybe? Edited to say: maybe not... at least not for the rest of that day, according to the schedule.
Yep - looks like no joy. Setanta also opted not to show the early Sunday match this past weekend as well.
Someone mentioned there's a Setanta "spill over" satellite channel for sometimes when they have multiple games. See anything about that on their website?
Yep - Setanta Extra on DirecTV and Broadband. I suppose that's an option, but I don't think they used it for the Championship match this past Sunday. Here's the Xtra schedule - no dice http://130.94.23.190/SSXTRA_schedule.htm It's mostly used for the Premiership on Saturday mornings
Thanks. I think I'll email them at programming-usa@setanta.com to ask about the possibility of our game on that channel. Unlikely, I know, but it'll cost me 30 seconds to ask.
http://130.94.23.190/SSUSA_live_schedule.htm The US schedule is now showing QPR's Sunday morning game being tape delayed until 8:15 a.m. Monday morning and again on Tuesday morning at 10:15 a.m.
Well the good news from Setanta is that the home fixture v Norwich WILL be on in the US. http://130.94.23.190/SSUSA_live_schedule.htm Monday, October 8th 2:30pm Soccer Coca Cola Championship QPR v Norwich (KO 2:45pm) LIVE Gonna have to sneak out of work for that...
It's the Columbus Day holiday, so I'll be off from work. My wife and I will be flying back from New Orleans that morning. She'll head to work and I'll head to a bar to watch the game!
I realized 30 seconds before checking back to this thread that I have the day off as well. And I get back from Florida the day before... The only thing we need to figure out is what bar we'll be drinking dry as we watch the Rs win! I'm game for Kitty O'Shea's (already on the schedule there), Fado, Harp & Fiddle...
As for this week's game, if we don't get blasted at the Hawthornes, would you like to get one of the bars to tape it for us during the Tuesday morning showing so we can watch it after work on Tuesday? If we play decently, I might call Summers or Kitty's and see if they would.
FYI, I emailed Setanta to ask if our game on Sunday might be on their spillover channel. The answer was no, but to give them credit, I got a same-day email response.
not sure if this fits this thread but there's a really interesting interview with JG on World right now, about the goal of being top 10 by the next transfer window and the change in the financial atmosphere around the club. its a different world we're in now, boys.
Confirmation from Setanta that the R's will be on in North America later this month... http://www.setantanorthamerica.com/TVSchedules/SetantaSportsChannelSchedules.aspx Sat 27 Oct 07:30 am LIVE Coca Cola Championship Charlton v QPR (KO 7:45am)
It's been a big news morning for the R's - now a new TV deal is on it's way in '09... http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2206081,00.html I guess we'll have to see how that affects our ability to watch here in the States, I don't think it would bother Setanta too much as they already have a deal with a competitor (Sky) to use their feed. Anyway, it's great news for the League. And hey... we might not be in the Football League in '09!
Grrrr... egg-chasing! Setanta North America Sat 10 Nov 12:25 - 14:30 EST Live Heineken Cup - London Wasps v Munster This pushes the Championship match to a delayed broadcast at 5pm tomorrow. Looks like the competition takes place a couple weekends in Nov, Dec and Jan - so we could be seeing 2nd tier treatment from Setanta on those weekends. At least the Rs aren't going to be playing till February (most likely)
