The season has officially kicked off, although I'm not sure why I'm up at 7:45 to watch Spurs and Sunderland.

I don't know how to feel about that.

I mean, we're supposed to hate S*nderland and all, them being the traditional rivals. But since I've been following Newcastle, I've really hated Chel$ki, Sp*rs and Roy ********ing Keane.

There's no way to resolve this conflict. Except maybe if that's the only win they get this year.

    Thx,

    Jay!

The only acceptable outcome could have been a nil-draw.

Blunderland can't keep this up. Good to see Sp*rs crash and burn.

Derby and Pompey exchange late goals for a 2-2 draw at Pride Park. I'm looking forward to seeing this one on FSC when it airs later on.

And let's not forget the sweet result from East London...the "resurgent" Hammers were on the wrong end of a 0-2 with old boys Bellamy and Bowyer in the line up (Parker's hurt) and were out-shot 16-9.

I agree with the mackem result, if they had to win, Spurs are the team I'd like to see them beat, just because they are our competition for European spots. Also just proves that they are still overrated - what's embarrassing isn't that they lost, it's that they didn't even score against a Championship league defense with all that "firepower." Maybe Jenas was too close to the fishbowl to have a good day.

Also pleased to see the smoggies turn a 1-0 into a 1-2.

Bottom line, we're top the table!

That it was, it's just a shame that you could have skipped the other 93 minutes and not missed a thing. Dreadful game.

I knew he was going to score as soon as I saw him on the touchline. The one game I want Spurs to win.

Should be a great fit for Benny Feilhaber....I think he's going to really develop under Davies. I hope they stay up, very fun to watch!

Rooney is out with a broken foot, sustained in the first half of their draw today. Now they're down to Saha, Solskjaer and Tevez, so Manyoo may really start to wonder where the goals are going to come from.

EDIT: Watching the MUFC board melt down over it is rather entertaining.
