Does anyone have an idea of the first round draft order, including all the trades?

Go to dallas's fan webiste at 3rd degree.com. That's probably your best bet . Also check out Mls collge scouting thread in MLs section. Hope that helps

Here's how I have the natural order: (it's always been playoff position then regular season)

    01)RSL or CUSA
    02)CUSA or RSL
    03)CHI
    04)DAL
    05)SJ
    06)Metros
    07)COL
    08)CLB
    09)NE
    10)LA
    11)KC
    12)DC

As for trades and such, here's how I have the first round.

    01)RSL or CUSA
    02)CUSA or RSL
    03)CHI
    04)DAL
    05)SJ
06)Metros or DAL(Metros can give multiple picks to FCD in 2006 and keep 2005 1st; The trade was for the 11th pick in 2004 superdraft that MLS made the Metros make a trade to DAL so Metros could compensate CHI for Bob Bradley)
    07)COL
    08)LA(From Crew for Simon Elliott)
    09)NE
10)CHI(From LA for 14th pick in 2004 superdraft)
11)KC(might have to give to Crew for Walsh trade, this or second round)
12)DC(might have to give to Metros for Moreno; not confirmed)

Real Salt Lake picks first, since Chivas picked first in the expansion draft.

DC United's pick should go to the Metros, as the conditional draft pick we gave up to get Moreno.

I believe in the 2004 draft, KC traded its 2nd round pick to DC for DC's 2nd and 3rd round picks in '05. I at least remember some trade like that.

I can provide current DC United information. Perhaps other people can step up to fill in the other teams.

From the "Roster, Draft Picks, Allocations, Discoveries" thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3625743#post3625743

    :: DC United 2005 Draft Picks ::

1st Round :: Natural pick to MetroStars for rights to Jaime Moreno.
2nd Round :: Natural pick to KC for 2004 24th pick (Ara). Acquired the rights to Colorado's highest second round pick in exchange for the rights to a discovery selection.
3rd Round :: Natural pick to KC for 2004 24th pick (Ara).
4th Round :: Natural pick to Dallas for rights to Ezra Hendrickson. See note below.
5th Round :: Natural pick. See note below.
6th Round :: Natural pick to Dallas for rights to Jason Thompson.

Note :: There's some confusion about the 2005 fourth and fifth round picks. According to the original deal DC United owes Dallas the fifth round pick and future considerations for the rights to Ezra Hendrickson. However, Steven Goff reports that "it appears the club will only have a second- and fifth-round pick -- the result of several trades the past two years." The source for that information was Dave Kasper. This suggests that Dallas has collected on those future considerations to move up to the fourth round selection.

Here we go. This should include all publicly announced moves, though usually there are 2 or 3 changes that MLS announces about draft time (or just happen). Several conditional picks aren't included yet in the list, cause I don't know the details yet.

The natural order for each of the 6 rounds is
    RSL
    CDC
    CHI
    DAL
    SJ
    MET
    COL
    CLB
    NE
    LA
    KC
    DC

like every year, this is by playoff exit, teams exiting the same time (or not making playoffs) ranked within group by point total

    Round 1
    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. CHI
    4. DAL
    5. SJ
    6. LA (f MET) - traded from MET to LA for 2004's 1st pick of 2nd round (Griffin)
    7. COL
    8. LA (f CLB) - Elliot trade
    9. NE
    10. CHI (LA) - for 2004 2nd rndr (Grabavoy)
    11. KC (*likely to CLB)
    12. DAL (f DC t MET) - Moreno trade, Vaca trade (not 100% sure these are the future considerations for Vaca)

    Round 2
    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. DAL (f CHI) - Countess trade (condition 15 games played not met so not 1st rnd)
    4. DC (f DAL t COL) - Garlick trade, discovery (used on Delgado) trade for highest COL #2 (edited after correction by Knave)
    5. SJ
    6. CHI (f MET) - for 2004 2nd rndr (Stammler)
    7. COL
    8. CLB
    9. NE
    10. LA
    11. KC
    12. KC (f DC) - part of trade for 2004 3rd rndr (Ara)

    Round 3
    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. DAL (f CHI) - for Herron Discovery
    4. DAL
    5. SJ
    6. SJ (f MET) - 2003 discovery used on Juskowiak)
    7. SJ (f COL) - part of Cannon trade
    8. SJ (f CLB) - Lagos trade
    9. NE
    10. LA
    11. CHI (f KC) - Stephenson trade
    12. KC (f DC) - part of trade for 2004 3rd rndr (Ara)

    Round 4
    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. CHI
    4. DAL
    5. SJ
    6. MET
    7. SJ (f COL) - part of Cannon trade
    8. CLB
    9. NE
    10. LA
    11. KC
    12. DAL (f DC) - conditional Hendrickson trade (upgrade from 5th by condition met - guess due to reported 5th and now Goff saying DC has a 5 and not a 4)

    Round 5
    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. CHI
    4. DAL
    5. SJ
    6. MET
    7. COL
    8. CLB
    9. CLB (f NE) - Vercollone trade
    10. LA
    11. KC
    12. DC

    Round 6
    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. CHI
    4. DAL
    5. SJ
    6. SJ (f MET) - for 2004 6th (Parke)
    7. LA (f COL) - Lewis trade
    8. CLB
    9. NE
    10. LA
    11. KC
    12. DAL (f DC) - conditional pick from Jason Thompson trade (would've been a 5th but hedidn't play 7 games)

these are the outstanding conditional picks and future considerations not fully known to me

condional COL to CHI (for Rey Angel Martinez) - likely a 2 or 5 (hopefully will know soon per GM)
conditional 1st vs 2nd from KC to CLB for Diego Walsh (guessing a 1st)
future considerations are owed to DC from CLB for Barclay (may be settled)
future considerations are owed to LA from MET (part of Griffin/2005 #1 trade, may be settled)
    conditional DC to SJ (Barclay)
future considerations DAL to DC (for Reyes, upgraded since made roster)
    cond SJ to COL (Hart)
cond KCto DAL (part of multiplayer Quill/Talley/Thomas and Taylor/Goodson picks trade 2004 draft day)

note that some conditional pick was sent from CLB to COL for Fraser but returned in Herdsman trade
note that the COL #2 to DC is the highest of COL's picks that round
note the Serna trade btwn NE and LA involved a 2nd conditional pick, but it was likely for 2004 and not given, but still I'm not 100% sure
note the only 2006 pick I remember being traded is a 4th in 2006 from DC to DAL (Jason Thompson) - not 100% sure
note that a conditional KC to DAL was traded in early 2003 for Lee Morrison (KC announced 2004, DAL announced 2005) - likely condition not met, but possibility for this draft

anything older than 2003 likely future considertaions settled by now and not included (never know)

so about 8 more picks may trade hands from the list above (exhales)

Here's a little correction. I know you know this because you're the one who explained it to me a while back, but here it is anyway ... The problem is the line in bold.
DC United acquired Colorado's highest second round pick in exchange for the rights to a discovery selection. This gives DC United picks in the 2nd and 5th rounds and accords with the information Steven Goff obtained from Dave Kasper.

correct, I had that but didn't transcribe the rest of my Excel block (hidden from view!)

    toCOL(Garlick)thentoDC(discovery-Delgado)

that pick is DC's. correct on all counts.

I'll relist the whole list when we hear back about some of these conditional picks (edit: actually was able to fix that above). If only all teams had someone like Knave keeping track!

I think you have the 6th pick wrong. I'm pretty sure that pick goes to Dallas, not LA. Dallas traded the 11th pick to Metros so they could trade it to Chicago for Bob Bradley. Furthermore in the Dallas townhall meeting they just had, the FO said that the Metros can choose to give Dallas two picks in 2006 and keep their 2005 first.

I know the 11th pick was LA's from an earlier trade, but I thought Dallas had to give something else for that so they could trade it again to the Metros. It was a league thing so it was screwy. If you have something different I'd like to hear how that trade was handled.

that's the Vaca pick they're talking about, Metrostars owe the pick they got from DC for Moreno to DAL for Vaca

    http://www.la-soccer.com/Late_News/prior_press_rels/press_release0401.htm
CARSON, CA (Wednesday, January 14, 2004) - Los Angeles Galaxy Vice-President and General Manager Doug Hamilton announced today that the club has obtained the MetroStars' natural first round pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft and future considerations. In exchange, the Galaxy send the club's eleventh overall pick in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft to the MetroStars. On the heels of its first transaction, the Galaxy continue to wheel and deal with two days remaining before the MLS SuperDraft on Friday, Jan. 16.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20040203104656/http://mlsnet.com/content/04/mls0114trade.html

The Chicago Fire today received the first selection of the second round (11th overall) in this Friday's MLS SuperDraft from the MetroStars. The deal completes the compensation agreement that led to the MetroStars' hiring of former Fire Head Coach Bob Bradley on October 22, 2002. Before giving the pick to Chicago, the MetroStars obtained the 11th overall selection from the Los Angeles Galaxy earlier in the day in exchange for their first round pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft and future considerations.

So no, it's not wrong. Thanks for checking.

Gus Martins of the Boston Herlad has the Revs picking 5th in the draft, thus suggesting that the order may go as follow

    2 expansion teams
2 teams that missed the playoffs
the 6 teams that didn't get to the final from worse record to best
    MLS Cup runner up
    MLS Cup winner.

    Or

    1. RSL
    2. CDC
    3. CHI
    4. DAL
    5. NE
    6. SJ
    7. NY
    8. COL
    9. LA

maybe that's cause the other major pro sports use that system, but it doesn't work for 2003 draft
    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3632316&postcount=5

and my system works for 96-2004, so until I hear something more official I'm going to stick with my current order. it's true that both systems work for 2004 but MLS didn't change many other rules between 2003 & 2004 (except that DC automatically gets the first pick every year)

    my order matches swedcrip34s.

    I had a couple things you didn't.

Dallas sends 15th overall to KC for Talley (conditional)

The vaca conditions were met for FCD to get a 1st for him.
But there is a clause where Metro can hold the 1st and give a 1st and 2nd the next season (really that was in case metro didn't have a 1st in 05, but it amounts to the same thing).

and if you want to see the early pool lists...

so that clarifies one of the outstanding conditions. is there a published source or is that inside info?

I'd heard that Vaca condition too but left it out cause 1. I forgot and 2. doubt it will happen

    thanks

if anyone else can help with the other conditions, please do. I'll start asking around in the team forums

Pulished no. Source is me talking to Colin Clarke. The conditional in that trade was based on Talley starts, which he met, making it a 2nd rounder (instead of 3rd).

According to FCD PR, they currently hold no 2nd round picks...
since the 4th in that round went to DC, the 3rd in that round went to Talley.

FYI I am fairly sure the Morrison thing executed last year.

do you know how many starts Talley needed?

on the Morrison thing, the Dallas PR made a typo then! I'm guessing no pick was exchanged? Did you ever hear those conditions?

thanks for this info. I wish more teams had such dedicated sites.

I wanted to say 20, but he only got 19 starts. So it must have been less.
I do know for a fact he met the conditions.

I know what it was at the time.... IIRC it was a 6th rounder. (as opposed to a 5th if he had met some conditions) Morrison was about to be cut by Dallas at the time so he didn't bring much.

    Why thank you.

I've seen 7,15,and 20 as conditions but I'm not sure if they were for starts or games played

maybe it was 15 starts or 20 games played (if he played 20)?

ok I got a new one for you and confirmed some others.

FCD gets KC 6th as part of Shavar Thomas trade (which is actually part of the Quill/Talley/Thomas deal).

    confirmed
FCD natural 2nd goes to Col for Garlick
FCD 2nd from Chi for DJ probably goes to KC as part of Talley deal.

HOWEVER, there is a way for Dallas to keep that second for Talley. They can instead send a 3rd in 05 and a 3rd in 06.

This is similar to the Metro deal for Vaca, where instead of the 1st in 05, Metro can send a 1st and 2nd in 06. Metro have till Jan 10 to decide.
