Possible warm up with Swede club Hammarby next week in LA? https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3997473#post3997473
As of 26 Jan according to the USSOCCER.com site: U.S. Men at Mexico Date: 3/27/05 12:00 PM End date: 3/27/05 2:30 PM Series: FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Location: Estadio Azteca (Mexico City, Mexico) It looks like it will not be a night game after all. Also according to the Federation, the match is only live on Telemundo, it has not secured a spot on one of the ESPN networks.
telemundo shows all the mexican matches...do they have some priority for transmission over espn...or is the WOMENS NCAA tourney in the way on ESPN channels?? also, the noon start lets the usa get out and to birmingham at a reasonable hour...
The Gold Cup Schedule is out: http://www.concacaf.com/competitions/goldcup/2005/downloads/GC2005_english_scheduleV4.pdf Lots of locations with the final at Giants Stadium.
Hoping that ESPN can get this broadcast, although I think Telemundo has the US rights to Mexico home matches or something like that. If I have to I'll order Telemundo for the month of March and pay 10 bucks or however much this'll cost.
telemundo has the spanish language rights to mexico matches here english rights are a different story
I assume US Soccer/SUM purchased the TV rights to the Mexico game from the Mexican Federation (since the home team controls all TV rights). Yes, March 26th is a date on which NCAA Women's Basketball Championship games will be played. Hence, virtually no available timeslots on ESPN or ESPN 2; ESPN might also have an NBA telecast that afternoon- they usually combine with ABC to do Sunday doubleheaders for the last several weeks of the regular season. Guessing that US Soccer is working out the arrangements with sponsors to show the game on FSC.
What about "Fox Soccer Channel" picking it up? In the AP story on FSW changing its name to FSC it was mentioned that they will televise US & England WCQ games. Didnt they also step up last year and pick up the US/Mexico match from Texas last year
Himself or his possesions must be in danger Most Americans see it as a sign of disrespect, though its a free country and everybody including hippies have rights.
you can also catch a replay of ecuador-panama friendly replayed 4 pm eastern on telemundo... mexico had dfficulty with the physical approach of sweden last evening...
Um hello??? Of course they do!!! Theres the world championship poker, bass masters, and the outdoor games featuring the always popular wood chopping competition. </sarcasm>
OK guys time to bring this back to a discussion of the schedule, not a discussion of ESPN or other rights. That is for another thead.
Game vs. Hammarby tonight? Does anyone have any info on this? Can we get some so maybe we can get a match report.
Hey, if anyone gets any word on if there are any qualifiers @ Gillette Stadium down in Foxboro, MA, let me know. I would love to see the USMNT live. I will be checking in periodically and will also check the US Soccer site. Thanks for keeping me posted.
Yeah, my guess is USA will be put into group B with games in Seattle and Boston and hopefully we'll be playing at Giants stadium for the semis and finals. Group C looks like it is setup for Mexico (LA/Houston) and Group A (Miami) will be for the Digicel Cup winners.
