Sorry about the late posting, but I just found out yesterday that MLS Futbolito is coming to DC this Saturday, July 23. I've never participated in this event and was thinking of bringing my girls U-10 team out.

Is there anyone here who has participated in Futbolito before and can give me their overall impressions?

Also, was thinking of signing up myself (for non-$$$). Any info on adult rec?

    Thanks,
    Tom

It's worth going. You get a real small field and play 4-on-4. You mainly use your ball control skills. Surprisingly most aren't hispanic. Just a party atmosphere, good fun.

But if you want to go you better find a team or create one fast, the deadline might be over with.

I'm not going but if you (or anyone) goes have fun. Definitely worth going.

My son is playing in a U-8 division. I'll report back on how they did.

FWIW, his team took 1st place at a tourney this past weekend, and 3rd the weekend before. Lots of soccer this summer, which is a good thing.

PS I've heard that it can be more competitive than some tourneys, but that's just hearsay--this is my first year, so I really can't say.

PPS If I may brag a little, my son's team is a U-7 team playing up a year in U-8 tourneys and leagues, so it ain't easy for them.

Good luck, and hope you guys make it. From what I've heard, it's a lot of fun.

Thanks very much. I already registered my girls team (U-10) and may enter in myself. What team will you son be playing with. I'll look for you out there.

The title of this thread keeps making me think of those odd Adidas "Footballitis" commercials.
