In case you aren't aware of it: The biggest Rugby League competition in the Northern hemisphere (and England) the Super League has started a new 2004 season from Friday. More info is here:

There is pretty much no TV coverage in the US. They carry few match highlights during Sky Sports News, and frequently BBC Five Live radio may carry live commentaries. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive)

It seems all 2004 matches for one of the teams (London Broncos) will also have live radio commentary on the internet.

As a bit of background on the Super League: The biggest support comes from Lancashire (in Northwest, Manchester, Bradford, etc.) and Yorkshire (Midlands, Leeds, York, etc.). I'm not sure how much support this sport gets in London over football.

The champions of 2003 are the Bradford Bulls. They also recently beat the 2003 NRL (Rugby League competition from Australia) champions Penrith Panthers to be declared the best Rugby League club in the world!
