What are you waiting for in the year 2004? Some of mine are: Miracle - its gonna be cheesy, but I hope it will be good Kill Bill 2 - It will have lots of blood and fighting if nothing else, but I think it will be very good Troy - If Brad Pitt can pull of Achilles this could be another Gladiator Prisoner of Azkaban - My favorite of the books with a new director. The trailer gave off a great vibe and this movie will be much darker (and hopefully better) than the first 2 Passion of Christ - Curiosity if nothing else makes me want to see this. If you read Aint it Cool, everybody was raving about this. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - the next Spike Jonze and Charlie Kauffman film. It sounds like a great premise and I will see this the day it opens Jersey Girl - I love most of Kevin Smith's movies, but I just worry about the Bennifer problem Spider Man 2 - 1st one was a perfect summer movie, I hope number 2 follows in its footsteps Anchorman - two words: Will Ferrell Alexander - Oliver Stone's take on Alexander the Great Elizabethtown - Cameron Crowe's next film Game of Their Lives - what everybody on bigsoccer is waiting for
Where is the love for the Alamo movie? I mean, the Iliad and the exploits of Alexander the Great are fine topics, but its not like the Alamo... 'Mon now.
This one's actually directed by Michel Gondry. Still, his music videos are visually stunning and I expect this to be excellent.
I'm looking forward to: Kill Bill vol.2 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Anchorman Game of Their Lives Troy and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou by Wes Anderson
This has the potential to be one of the best movies ever. Brad Pitt is the only person who could play the role of Achilles. But what worries me is how few people will actually know the real storyline. I'm assuming most will at least have heard of the Trojan Horse and maybe Helen "whose face could launch a thousand ships" but thats about it. If they stick to Homer it will be awesome.
1.Miracle 2.Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow-Jude Law 3. I,Robot-Will Smith 4.Kill Bill Vol.2-Uma Thurman 5.Anchorman-Will Ferrell 6.The Incredibles-Pixar! 7.Spiderman 2-Tobey Maguire 8.The Manchurian Candidate-Denzel Washington 9.The Aviator -Scorses/DiCaprio 10. and that one where some kinda storm is going to ruin the world
Spider Man 2 Aliens vs Predator The Passion The Punisher preview looks crappy but might check this one out. Beyond 2004/2005/2006 *Catwoman Halie Barry i think this film opens late 2004 *Indiana Jones 4 *STAR Wars eposide III *Superman* yet to be confirmed *Batman Year 1* *X men III
The Ladykillers New Cohen brothers movie starring Tom Hanks. The Brothers Grimm Terry Gilliam's latest starring Matt Damon. An Unfinished Life Lasse Hallestrom usually is pretty good, though I have to admit the premise of this one sounds like a made for TV movie. And an odd cast pairing as the two leads: Jennifer Lopez and Robert Redford? Imagining Argentina Historical thriller about the "disappeareds" during Argentina's military dictatorships of the 70s. Stars Emma Thompson and Antonio Banderas. Hidalgo This one could go either way, but the trailers have looked good. Envy Barry Levinson's new one based on a script by Larry David...starring Jack Black and Ben Stiller. Jesus that's a lineup. Spartan New David Mamet spy thriller starring Val Kilmer and William H. Macy. Howl's Moving Castle Miyazaki's upcoming release, but it might not make it to the states until '05. Vanity Fair This just strikes me as strange. Thackeray's novel brought to the screen by Mira Nair, starring Reese Witherspoon. Warriors of Heaven and Earth Big budget Chinese historical action flick with lots of swordplay. Cool.
Troy looks unreal. I'm a bit of a closet greek mythology geek, so this is right up my alley. Orlando Bloom seems ideal for the role of Paris. Anyone know whose playing Hector? Agamemnon? Helen??
King Arthur, starring Clive Owen, Stellan Skaarsgaard and Keira Knightley Dark Horizons says: Based on a more realistic portrayal of "Arthur" than has ever been presented onscreen. The film will focus on the history and politics of the period during which Arthur ruled -- when the Roman empire collapsed and skirmishes over power broke out in outlying countries -- as opposed to the mystical elements of the tale on which past Arthur films have focused. http://www.darkhorizons.com/2004/kingarthur.php
Eric Bana is Hector, Diane Kruger is Helen, and Brian Cox is Agamemnon. Here is the imdb page for it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0332452/
I just read up some on The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. It has a character named Zissou (Zizzou??)and a Brazilian character named Pele dos Santos. Is Wes Anderson a soccer fan? He is definitely a Herman Melville fan, judging by the summaries, and this film sounds like some weird mixture of Jaws, Moby Dick and Love Boat.
