Being from LA, and therefore shallow, I have to go with the Glamour of DC.

Oy vey - did they have to pay Beck's for that line? "Hi, I'm David. .er. . Beckham, and you're watching. . er. . .ML. .S?"

BUT, I gotta say, did you see that Stro-motion? I thought that was pretty cool, especially when showing a one-touch passing situation, really showed the build up of a play.

I hope the ambient audio will be pumped up so that we can hear the supporters do their work.

My first reaction was before the commercial break -
why will we hear from Beckham? Is he going some where else?

And then they played the clip - what the heck was that worth!

Did anyone catch Beckham calling it "the MLS"? I guess whoever wrote the script didn't realize MLS is an acronym for Major League Soccer.

Any reason why they mic-ed Peter Nowak and NOT Bob Gansler? Conspiracy? D.C. United bias? Adu?

And now, the crappy halftime performance.

This halftime show is as depressing as the game itself.

This actually could be the best halftime concert ever at MLS Cup, as bad as it is. Usually they suck really bad, this time it just sucks mildly.

I guess Switchfoot was the best they could do in such short notice, ya know, since ODB died and all.

GODDAMN I hate this band. They're like the OC's house band.

My thoughts on the first half

    1) I thought Wynalda's being pretty good. Better than most NFL commentators, who dominate every second.

    2) I like them Mic'ing the coach. 100% better than talking to the coach in the middle of a frickin' game.

    3) I like how they are pumping the crowd noise until it almost masks Wynalda and J.P.

    4) I'm sorry the HDC is only half full. Do not - I repeat - DO NOT blame Los Angelinos. The Galaxy regularly pull 22K, it's not our fault.

Agree 100%, although I imagine my reasons for thinking the game depressing differ from yours somewhat.

What's up with the stupid slow motion cheer routine around the stage? Between that and the mostly empty seats behind the One-Hit-Wonder band, this looks decidedly MINOR league.

Beckham said "the MLS," not "the MLS Cup." And yes, he sounded like he was either forced to do that spot by adidas or he had been drinking heavily. Or both.

JP Dellacamera - what a breath of fresh air. By far and away the best soccer announcer we have in this country.

Everywhere and Nowhere.....I'm the wind, baby.
That's why I'm here now. It seems the league would be better served to take these few minutes to show top goals/saves/plays of the season....

...but since they didn't ask me......
