Well due to the amazing success of our last thread, we are doing it again. Okay I'm at 233 lbs, waist is about a 37, no idea about the other measurements, but my kid and boss told me I'm looking good. My goal is 200 lbs by the end of the year. I'd like to ride 2,500 miles on my bike 24,000 push ups 48,000 crunches I'm also hoping to start some jogging, but with winter here --- that might not happen too often. Okay check in with your goals and Happy New Year!
There *might* be some minor revisions on my 2004 Winter goals. ------- And to kick off 2004...tomorrow I'm fixin' on going XC skiing up at Bogus Basin. Friday: *Probably* the same thing. Not too sure though. May head up past Idaho City instead. Also thinking of heading to the office this day as well. Saturday: Could very well be an off day or back up at Bogus. OR...maybe check out Tamarack just south of McCall. We'll see. Sunday: Scott and I are going snowshoeing on "Snowshoe Loo" (I did this over Thanksgiving) up at the Banner Ridge Park N Ski area.
Wow, 2004 is already here. Well, as you guys know I started the Body For Life program again on Monday. For those of you who aren't familiar with it...but be warned, it is a very commercial site. www.bodyforlife.com ****************************** My goals: Lose between 20-30 additional pounds. Tone, tone, tone. Decrease body fat %. Drop 3 dress sizes. Increase cardiovascular endurance ******************************* Looking back on the past year I must say that I am very pleased with my progress. Sure, there are areas that I would like to have done better, but there are also areas in which I far exceeded my original goals...so it all balances out.
Will weigh myself and have BP checked at work tomorrow. Blood sugar 120 (I ate dinner at 11:30 last night) Last weights are in the 210 area. BP 112 over 70. I'll test my cold weather gear today. Exercises walking/running easy elliptical at home ,machines at the club I would like to take some formal yoga instruction. Goal for last year - get healthy-mission accomplished Modified goal for this year,STAY healthy......
Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I ordered that pilates program that I keep seeing on television. I took a yogalates class at my gym several years ago and it nearly killed me, so I think this is a good way to learn some of the exercises at home so I can die in the privacy of my own home. ************ And I won't be posting my weight, but I have no problem posting my size, which is currently a 12-14, but usually a 14. I just had my yearly physical and my BP was 116/72 and my cholesterol and triglycerides were all in the very low end of normal.
I don't post often here but my goals for this year are 1500 miles running and lift weights twice a week. I will run a half marathon in March (will announce the time goal just before the race) and a marathon in the fall (number 2). I only weigh 138 (I am about 5'6" or so) but could lose 5 pounds. Cholesterol numbers were good back in October. I take BP medicine and that is pretty much 125/75 these days with a pulse of 45-50 resting.
Forgot to mention this: Went to Doctor last month...last year. BP: 120/80 Heart rate: 58 Going to give blood on Saturday. I'll let you know how it goes.
well the wife and i joined planet fitness and started working out this week. Before xmas i was 204. 185-190 is my target. As of today i am 199. I would be cautious about the bowflex. Alot of folks drop that kind of cash and end up using it alot the first month or so then it becomes a clothes hanger. better off joining a gym. you get professional trainers and you feel like you have to go because your paying monthly and don't want to waist your money.
I find it easier to work out at home then going to a gym. Fits my schedule better, but you are right about the cashage. You are skinny as far as I'm concerned
206 is my max according the the military,,,would not look good having the former first sergeant on the fat boy program...time to loose the stomach. As bad as i think i look,,,,just had my 20th HS reunion,,,,,,holy crap did some of those guys look bad,,the chicks too
How tall are you? Former military is something that should help you stay in shape. Coming close to the 25th reunion, but I doubt I'll go back.
Okay Day 1 of 366 Rode bike 12.15 miles, 30 minutes Did a 30 minute walk 150 crunches 80 push ups (was supposed to be an off day- forgot) I'm ahead of last year's pace!
GoDC,post your time anyway.I'll playfully taunt my triathlete friend if it's fast,or use it to build her confidence if it's slow. Good luck.
Well, here it is the New Year, and I noticed I've "suddenly" gained back 8 of the 26 lbs I lost last spring/summer. So. I guess I'd better start checking into this thread. Here are the things that went wrong, in order ... - I went back on soda (I love the kick and the taste, which means Diet don't cut it) - I stopped planning my dinners and started grabbing whatever was around (hot dogs? sure...) - I stopped bringing healthy snacks to work and started getting candy to go with my soda - I stopped going to the gym - I realized I'd blown it and said "WTF" heading into holidays. And here I am. My initial goal is modest - lose 12 lbs in 12 weeks. Starting tomorrow. One more day of naughtiness.
welcome back, but not glad you are back. Its good that you mentioned the problems, it will help the rest of us. The soda thing is tough, I can go a few days without one - but then I want one. I'm desperate for a Dr Pepper, but haven't had one this year. The knee aches are concerning me, but I'm going to see if I can ride today. I tried jogging/running on NYD and I think that triggered something.
Race finished in 48:33. My goal was 50 minutes so I am happy. Ran very smart by my first two miles being the slowest and building from there. I was using this one to check my training level 9 weeks before my half marathon. I was still very strong at the end and probably could have run a minute or two faster. Very tough course.
