Form on-line at: http://www.ussoccer.com/templates/includes/tickets/pix/Confed_tix.pdf Just FYI, but strongly considering putting in for the Category III seating: not only is it the least expensive, but it should afford travelling U.S. fans and supporters the best opportunity to stand together where they can be most effective in cheering the team. Thanks for the link! Too bad we're finding out about this just a bit late. A friend and I already have Cat 3 Lyon passes bought through the links at the FIFA site (US/Brazil, US/Cameroon & two other games). We'll get to be in with US fans for the Turkey game, anyway. All-in-all, it should be a great tournament. I encourage anyone who is on the fence to go. Fares have come down of late -- I purchased a r/t from DC to Paris for $520 on US Airways just last week.
Since I are veree dum, Wots the diffrents beetween Cat I, Cat II and Cat III barring the obvious price diffrentsez? A window of oppurtunity has opened for me, now I just need a window of unbounded wealth to open...
The cheap ones are $18. can't complain about that at all. how do we make sure we all sit together? We need to have some kind of proper vocal apperance in France
The differences between Cat I, Cat II, and Cat III are in terms of both price and seating location. The differences can be seen below: Lyon: Plan du Stade de Gerland St. Etienne: Plan du Stade Geoffroy Guichard As you can see, Category III seating for each U.S. first round venue is behind the goal. I've spoken to any number of people who've travelled to France '98, and they've suggested very good value for these seats: i.e., great view, inexpensive tickets. I've been in contact with Jim Moorhouse at the USSF, and he stated the following: "You can assume (without a guarantee) that the tickets we receive from each category will be grouped together. There is always a chance that there could be a number crunch that means some will be spread out. But the likelihood of that is slim, as we don't expect huge numbers. So if you can coordinate with everyone to choose the same group, you should be good." So in short, it's a pretty safe bet that each Category of ticket will be in the form of a block, section of seats, however you chose to describe it. Right now those more vocal supporters I'm travelling with... Hell, they're all vocal, we're all going Category III. At this point, it would seem the USSF hasn't yet received their tickets, and doesn't yet know in which section these tickets will be. However, I have ticket/seating plans for both Lyon and St. Etienne, so we should know rather easily where people will be grouped. Obviously, I would love for us to be at field level behind the goal, as that would allow us the best opportunity to hang flags, banners, be loud, and be visible. Right now I'm aware of some 20 people heading over, and if we can all be in the same section of the stadium (Cat. III) that would be great. Once again, tickets are now available for a limited time at: http://www.ussoccer.com/templates/includes/tickets/pix/Confed_tix.pdf The Magpie

ok, as I are dumb also... I've never sat behind the goal but it seems to me to be a crappy place to watch a game. Is it not? I'll be there btw.
I am running an e-mail distribution list for people going to the confed cup. PM me with your e-mails if you would like to be added. we currently have about 18 names... #1 Stunna
Bump... gonna try and get some word from the USSF this week to get a sense of how many tickets were purchased. Hopefully we can also find out at some point which section will be in. The Magpie
I've got to give them a call to make sure they are going to send me tickets. I live in England and have ordered them by sending the cheque to the states (through US Soccer) I remember for the Ireland game that they wouldn't post the tickets overseas. I didn't see anything on the order form about that this time. I'll hopefully know what is going on with that tomorrow.
Show the Stars and Stripes good in Froggieland, boys. Don't forget the Big Ass Flag (and maybe Rattlerzilla as well) for this one. And wear your US gear all over town.
My wife and I have just decided to head over to support the boys. Any idea how to best order US tix now that the US Soccer presale is over?
http://fifaconfedcup.uk.francebillet.com/home.jsp You can buy City Passes through the link above. You get four games for the gate price of three. A Lyon pass gets you US/Brazil, US/Cameroon, France/Colombia, and New Zealand/Colombia. The site doesn't list when single game tickets will go on sale, so I don't know if you'll be able to get US/Turkey tickets through that site before the tournament starts. Also, Andy, check your box for an unread PM I sent you on the 4th -- it's got some more such info. Mark
Single game tickets for the three U.S. opening round matches are no longer on sale, at least those offered through U.S. Soccer. The deadline for orders was April 30th I believe. That doesn't mean there aren't tickets available for these matches, but you might have to sneak your way into the U.S. supporters section(s) depending on what tickets you get. Hopefully we can get word from the Fed in the near future as to where those seats will be. Hey, the more the merrier! The Magpie
Word from the grapevine is that USSoccer received "about 180 orders" for single game first round tickets through the Federation's offer. Not bad considering the short amount of time to make the purchase, and remember, this number does not factor in those Americans who may have purchased block tickets by host city through FIFA. Just FYI, The Magpie
