    hey guys-

this idea came up at Go Big Red!!'s message forum, and i thought it was definitely worth a go, and thought it would be fun to do.

there's a *small* algarve cup pool game at go big red!! for everybody to give a go if they wish!! you get points by "predicting" various outcomes of the tourney (very simple and basic) and the person who accumulates the most points at the end of the tourney will win the prize...an autograph team canada poster. (this is, after all at a team canada website! lol)

join in if you wish!!! i'm interested to see how this goes...

    http://www.gobigred.ca/algarve.html

deadline for entries is march 13th @ midnight (ET)

Yes I'm actually a big fan of Team Canada!

I love Charmaine and Shar and KK and Nicci and Sinclair and I love how they play. But USWNT does come first!! :D

That obviously took a lot of work! I hope that there is a lot of entries, so {ahem} whoever wins really has something to crow about.

    Very Nice

Thanks for the little pool. I came up with Norway, China, USA, France, and Canada in that order...

Sorry Canada, but goal differential plays big this time and the team definitely has a shot at the top 3 spots.

If war starts, it *will* bother the Americans and they could drop drop from the 3rd place game down to 5th or even the 7th place game.

This always seems to be Norway's tournament, save for 2001 when they went 5th and the US went 6th.

Interesting ... I'm in, though my Irish-Asian bias does show in my picks.

    so far...

    Got US/Canada exact also...
Not so well with Norway/Sweden or even the rest of today's games.

And what's the deal with moody China??? Great team one month, and then there's nothing left.

Man, I thought that I did a good job that second round, only to see Sharie keep her 17 point lead on me, and Paul creep further ahead of me... sigh

And there I was, tied for 12th and heading for glory ... and then I crashed and burned like Michael Schumacher with a .024 BAC. Sigh.

Group C really messed me up, too. :)

The pool was a great reason to focus on some games that I may normally have ignored. Good job, Elaine!

I bet you $100 that I'm the only one on these boards that knows exactly where Hahira, GA is, knows how to get there and knows about the Honey Bee (or was it just Honey?) festival that happens there every year.

Bizarre. In my former, much more happy life I used to live in Pavo and worked in Valdosta. Hahira was on the way for me to work.
