Its a moot point, but is there any way to watch Nationwide games in the U.S.? I'll ditch my digital cable and pick up satellite if there is. Otherwise I guess we'll all be listening over the net on Saturday mornings.
I bet with advances in technology we will be watching games on the net in a few years, but that doesn't help us this season.
Are we to interpret this as one season in the first division and then back to the Premiership? I concur. I was looking at the schedule. We would be the epitome of underacheivers if we didn't go back up next season.
The only thing that scares me is if the brillant upper level management types at WH decide to make it pay per listen instead of free through Real Player. That would totally suck, but I would pay.
Well if we lose Kanoute and Sinclair, I'll feel confident. If we lose Cole the whole ship will abandon.
It's not that easy mate-and believe me i know from the many years that CFC spent in the wilderness, culminating with the '83 season when we finished just off the bottom of the second (old) division and nearly went out of existance. We had to beat Bolton away to stay up (feel free to remind Prenn of this whenever you like -our victory there kept us up and sent them down that year) Our entire football clubs future rested on the result of that one game. Scary situation, and one WH could find themselves in. *New Chelsea Fans know phuck all about these days. Anyways, we went down at the end of the 70's, 78'79 season and gave it our all in the second that next season, being '79 / '80. We missed out on goal difference. BTW..your lot were neck and neck with us that year. But, we failed to get up. Every team was coming at us right from the start of the season as we were perceived as a team that had to be beaten if they wanted to do anything that season.And this shyte happened all season long.The fact that we did infact challenge for the promotion spots just re-inforced their determination to kick us in the town halls. It was a bitter season as the fall down from the 1st ment less monies coming into a cash straped club with the burden of a white elephant of an East stand. Some of the better players were persuaded to stay for that season to give it their all to "get right back up", but, as it looked like we may not there came mutterings that at the end of the seaosn they would be off if second division footie was to be their fare the following season. We still had some great players that season...Walker, Osgood, Borota, Langley, Chivers, Britton and the chopper himself. We beat you lot both home and away that season...but lost both battles outside the ground if i remember right. I remember the ICF lot took the shed and were in the middle of it singing "we took the shed, we took the shed, e-i-adio, we took the shed" Soon thereafter the hoolie lot formed ranks and took it back and then the old bill got the town halls to actually do something about it. I was in the North Stand on the wooden benches at the bottom and though it was all quite funny really.But i kept these thoughts to myself. The following season our best players did a runner and we went down hill from there.We lost to you lot twice and it has taken a full generation for the club to come back to the level it was at in the mid 70's. So, geting back up will be tough.The teams that usually win outright promotion-and lets face it , who really wants to be involved in those bloody stupid play-offs-usually get to the top of the league early and generally stay there through out the season. Your first 10 games will be a good barometer. And should you slip up, well, i'll be around to let youse know about it
To be really honest-and i'm not taking the piss here, i can't see him staying. If he wants to have any shot at all of an international career he has to leave. He could take the chance of staying with you lot and making it back up in one shot, but what if you don't.He's then effectively wasted a year in a shot career. I don't think he will be prepared to put his future on the saddle of that horse lads.

I hate it when Clanblue is right, but he has been the paragon of truth lately. This season will be very hard, and Joe Cole probably isn't staying.
