Here's the link to another article in the "2002 Revisited" series that mentions one of the real low points of the Courage's Championship Season:

    Loss To Atlanta

I watched the Courage's only loss to Atlanta at Junior Seau's sports bar and watching that match right after seeing the Spirit's lose to the Freedom made that afternoon the low point of the season for me. :( There were several obvious fouls against Prinz that never got called and as the match went on, Birgit got more and more frustrated until she finally seemed to lose control at the very end.

It was very unfortunate that TR ended up missing the next match against Washington after she "crossed the line" and got a red card because the Courage then ended up suffering their worst loss of the season at home before their largest crowd ever. However, it was great to see the way that the Courage bounced back like true Champions and were able to close out the regular season with a three match unbeaten streak that secured home field advantage in the playoffs and resulted in the Courage finishing at the top of the WUSA table.

I had a conflict so I taped the Atlanta game but after I heard how bad it was I could not bring myself to watch it. Definitely a low point in an otherwise great season!
