Well it is interesting.....After listening to the eye witness a guy was driving down Kirby (African American) and apparently a bottle was thrown at his car and he got out and started shooting. Could just be a completely random car near Reliant but my guess is that it is going to be a fan leaving the game (pure speculation).

    It just might be Hooliganism

It might just be Mexicans in the stadiums thinking they could get away with the sh!t they do inside the stadium outside of it and they paid for it.

Yeah, getting a bottle thrown at your crappy $2000 car= randomly shooting into a crow of people.

By far the stupidist thing I've seen on these boards.

P.S I was at this game and I didnt see anything thrown or terrible behavior. I see worse everyweek at Texans games. I see you're in NY how many Mexico v US games have you actually ever attended? Nuff said.

Well, if a Mexican fan throws a bottle at someone in the game is one thing. If they think they can start throwing things at random in streets, thats just plain stupid. I don't in Houston, but here in Brooklyn you throw shit at someone's car you're playing Russian roulette with your life.

That was my thought. They usually only do shit when in large crowds too. You almost never see them do anything like that individually. Ive been at enough matches at RFK that bring out signifgant mexican support, and I can tell you from being there first hand that they LOVE to throw things at opposing supporters, espeically beer bottles. Numerous bottle throwing incidents have gone on very close to me at RFK when DCU has played some mexican sides, such as Chivas. It seems to be a pretty common theme amongst mexican supporters, and it makes them seem barbaric to me, and to many others ( even some other mexican fans) in attendance at these matches. Lets not forget the ziplock urine bags they sometimes like to throw from upper decks too. Over the years I have come to regard them as some of the most unpleasant "fans" there are.

I hope the 2 that were shot will be fine, but I cant sit here and say that sometimes they ask for what they get. Its OK for them to throw bottles at people / cars or whatever, but as soon as some of them get thier asses beat down, they cry foul and racisim.

2 USA-Mexico games in Columbus, and 1 in the Azteca. There was stuff thrown onto the field in Columbus, largely streamers and confetti. That's all I recall.

Plenty of stuff was thrown at us in the Azteca. It didn't happen all game, but it did happen. Liquids, some sticks, cups. When they sold Coronas to us, they served them in white cups, so no bottles.

    Most likely gang related folks.

But it was intense all over the stadium and outside. A hate filled atmosphere you can feel. Last night was more anti-U.S.A. then 5 years ago for the "Revancha en la Canch" match.

    Like I told ya.

Reliant is located in the vicinity of some very bad areas of town here.

Inside was the most intense atmosphere I've ever experienced. Outside, before and after the game, I had absolutely no problems nor did I see or hear any major altercations other than normal chanting back and forth.

I knew it would be about 90% Mexican support at the game, so I didn't go around puffing up and being an idiot about it. During the game, I was yelling with every pass of the ball but it was left in the stadium after the final whistle.

Terrible. I dont care if the shooter was a US/Mex supporter or a regular citizen that is a bitch move. You dont fire into a crowd of unarmed people b/c someone threw a bottle. Fight like a man,or just blast off some warning shots in the air lol.

This trash definitely doesn't belong at soccer matches, especially in the U.S., where we're still trying climbing. This can only hinder our upward venture.

Here's the Mexican thread if anyone is interested. It has some detailed accounts of what happened after the game. Apparently, some Mexicans wanted to beat up another Mexican who had a US flag draped around his shoulders. Excuse him for supporting the country he lives in.

Yea I was in that thread for awhile but they trashed about 5 of my posts(one was little fiesty I'll admit lol). But it was in response to a racist comment("typical white trash behavior"I believe it was) in which I responded with a non racist comment but fired back. I asked why I was trashed and all those posts were allowed to stay. I asked if they were playing favs and the mod told me that in fact he was playing favorites lol.God thats rich.

uh... you guys actually comparing throwing stuff and shooting to kill?

throwing stuff might be stupid. shooting to kill is crazy. should catch the guy and forever isolate the guy from the society.

at least hooligans don't carry gun and shoot.

Unacceptable. Doesn't matter who threw what. You don't shoot into a crowd.
Hopefully none of this comes back to USMNT fans.

    Get well soon boys.

Yeah, I went over there, and found this nice little racist comment:

    To which I replied:
So, their jackass of, and piss poor excuse for a "moderator" sidspacemandecides to give me an infraction for trolling, and remove my post, while allowing the original bigoted and racist comment to stay. Yeah, thats real good non biased moderating if I ever saw it. Jeesh, and they wonder why they have such a horrible reputation. He obviously does not have the mental capacity to pick up on sarcasm, even with the aid of these neat little things called emoticons. What a power tripping jerk.

LOL! Yeah, it is pretty amazing to me. Its also in direct conflict with the moderators statment in the Community Forums Guidelines.

    In specifically, this section:

The guy obviously should not be moderating any forums on big soccer, because he can not do so fairly nor objectively.

Suffice it to say, I have filed complaint against him.
