Messed up... Hope they are in stable condition. Jesus is just game! A friendly at that! Que tristeza.
Despicable act, it doesn't matter if it's hool, race, or gang related. Hope they throw the book at those perps.
when I watching Futbol Picante last night, David Faietelson said there was a shootout between fans but could not report on any specifics. Waking up this morning to find out that it was 2 Mexicans that were on the recieving end made me happy. Do not misinterpret this, I am not happy at all about the incident, but I felt that if it was a Mexican that started the shootout, we would have lou dobb apologist starting their antiimmigration rhetoric.
I could just imagine if it was the other way around , how the media would play out of this . Or better yet if they were undocumented for the fact Thats one of the things I will never respect the agression of guns. Go take it like a real man with punches on the street
The same thing came to mind as what LMcVP thought. I was almost happy that we were on the receiving end of the attack. That's really sad. Because I know too that we would be getting ripped in the media. I really wish I didn't feel this way but I did. The truth is that I feel for these two fans. It sucks.
I'm not one to put violence at the hilt of sane solutions, but I'm old-school as well. So for the sake of such talk, if this was hool/ultra/hincha related, and the shooter was a US supporter, then red card and a middle finger to the shooter, because it used to be aboout throwin down with knuckles, at worst, sticks and stones. If this was gang and/or race related, well that's for another thread another time. But the underlying fact is, it's fuct up and uncalled for. I hope and pray the victims are recovering well.
It might have been some stupid gang members shooting at the crowd... I hate gangs..... gangs = stupid!
Would it be wishful thinking to wish that things like this never happen at Sporting events? We're all fans of the same sport no matter what we call it. That in the end should be enough for all of us to get along at these events. And like someone said above, this is definately not something the sport needs in this country. Here's hoping for a full recovery.
I highly doubt the shooter was a US fan. I highly doubt he was even a soccer fan. You guys have seen the Sam's Army types. Not exactly the gun toting gangbanger types.
What i want to know is, if this was gang related or if it had to do wiht the game? It would be sooo stupid to have a gun shootout over a USA-Mexico friendly....
hahahahah they're Barra Brava is lethal Drew Carrey type you never know they might have a trench coat emo type of goign on
you know what, maybe it was this group who where sitting in front of us. It was some mexican guy wrapped up in a US flag with friends who where Mexico fans. The guy in the flag started talking mad shit so everyone started throwing their beers at him about 4 mexican fans where threating to fight him. They kept on saying will meet you outside. It became a big deal, who knows??? But then again it was embarrassing to see so many drunk mexicanos trying to start fights with USMT fans after the game.
