I would also agree but that's assuming he has a good season with Koln, I mean out of our goalkeepers right now he will be the one playing for the most competitive league, and if he does well then I think he has all the merit to come back.

btw, I saw his preseason friendly against Bayern Munich and he looked really good.

Bump..... Ospina sucks guys and prob should be our #2 or #3 right now

I think Julio is our top goalie and we should start at least till the WC if we make it. I wouldnt put our fate on the shoulders of a 20 year old especially since we are kind of a sinking ship right now.

Other keepers who should be considered and have had shots
-Mondragon - 1st div Germay with Koln and prob our most experienced goalie in the hardest division
-Zapata - Steaua lot of people like him but failed everytime puts on yellow freaks him out

    God please never again
-Cordoba - ur times up kid, retire think he is to learn how to be a coach in Argentina
-Calero - just retire ur awful.... Copa America made me cry

Ones who should be given a shot
-Castellanos - Cucuta been a top goalie for a while just plays in a small team
-Cuadrado - Millos he is good just plays with a crap team

    any other names?

Yea Ospina should come and learn from Mondragon or Julio but not start..

At the World Cup I would put Ospina as starter depending on how he is doing in France

ok but dont say ospina sucks because is not true!!! he just need to get used to hard pressure games that only you get to see in south american eliminatorias that are the hardest in the world.
How would you feel if they put you as starter golie vs Argentina in BA
cualquiera se caga y mas si es pelao!!! eso es lo que algunas personas no entienden, imagina que tu seas Teo y te pasan la pelota y veas a MASCHERANO CORRIENDO A ROMPERTE LAS PATAS cualquiera se kga

Something I find troublesome is the lack of Colombian goalies in our league

    Dept cali - Blaquez
    Nacional - Petezzi
    America - Lima and Vieria
    Junior - Berbia
    DIM - Bobadilla
Santa Fe - also looking abroad for one !!

we are colombia .. we shouldnt be looking abroad for goalies or cbs

What about Julian Viafara former America de Cali goalie and now the goalie for Vitoria in Brazil ?

He is around 30, has a few games of NT experience. Remember him being the #1 keeper in Ruedas last game as coach when we won 2-1 in CHile

ospina will eventually be a top GK - give him time. if he was 30+ playing like this then we would have to start worrying about alternative solutions. he has only played one season overseas for an average French team, so we can't be too harsh on him like we are with some of our other experienced players.

this WCQ has allowed him to grow up quickly and he is getting good experience for Nice. i think he's on the right track

Ospina will not get better by riding the bench - these WCQ matches are a good learning curve especially since we are hanging on by a few threads...

your right last game it was more due to Yepes crap defending after he got tired

Also vargas shouldnt have playd if he was tired because that was a wasted sub.

the changes should ahve all been offensive but w/e or taking our Marin for Amero

But still, Ospina looked scared and made a couple of big mistakes in the Peru game, along with two big saves.

If it was up to me, I would have kept Julio as the starter, but is Lara's call and he seems to have chosen Ospina. For the number two, I think that we should bring along someone who has some potential for the next qualifiers, and preferably from the local tourney.

IMHO, probably the most unappreciated keeper in the local tournament is Landazuri who keeps having great games with Once. I think he is better than Julio and Rufai, and less prone to stupid mistakes than Ospina, although without the experience of Mondragon and all the above. He should be called at least for friendlies.

Ospina's young age and inexperience is starting to show and Julio should be starting for sure.

Imagine that we lose the last qualifier that had we drawn had given us the repechaje and David drops a blooper.

    Itll kill him.

There is really no one else to be honest

Julio isnt the same keeper, Santa Fe wants to get rid of him and bring in Aldo (Paraguays #2 or #3 keeper)

Rufay sucks on the NT,Mondragon hasnt had a shot and is almost as old as my dad, and Calero should have retired a few seasons back....

Only keepers we have dont have experience, and are young expect for Julian Viafara of Victoria in Brazil but I dont really know how he is doing

thats why this thread is #2 goalie and not #1

#1 is Ospina as long as Lara is in charge

    #2 is Julio/ ???

    #3 ???

I like Landurazi of Once Caldas and Cuadrado of Millos as our 2nd and 3rd keepers..

Calero, Cordoba, Mondragons time is up, and I pray that Libis Arenas grows up and improves because for a long time he looked to be our starter

if their time is up so is viafaras thats why i said if they have to call an EXPIRIANCE KEEPER it should be mondragon not viafara
