Is there usually the type of "fire-sale" roster movement in a 2 --> 3 relegation that one sees in a 1 --> 2? I'm thinking mostly about our young Americans in FC St Pauli, but would there potentially be other moves of interest due to SPs steep decline in stature?

D2 to D3 has much more movement on the roster as many D2 contracts are for pro players only, while D3 is on semi-pro level. Gibbs specifically is a so called contractual amateur though, who would have to stay in case of relegation (they recently used the option to make him stay until 2004). With a good offer they surely would allow some to leave, but in these days most just sign free agents. For St Pauli relegating means that only about three or four players would still have a contract (but as I said, this includes Gibbs).
