when you get a back up that makes quite a bit more than your starting keeper you aren't exactly showering your starter with love
If they'd agree to play other places than Azteca, I'm fine with it. But they won't. Also, what does playing in the US even matter at this point? The crowd is always overwhelmingly pro-El Tri. How do we have a "long way" to go to catch up to Mexico? Knocking them out of a World Cup? Check. Beating them in the regional title? Check. Stomping them a new mudhole on a regular basis? Check.
Original link did not work for me. Updated the link to one that worked for me. Thanks (as always) for putting this list together.
Mexico as a nation continues to be in complete denial. We basically own them, yet they continue to come up with excuses and scream that the sky is in fact green. My Mexican friends like to point out erroneously and think that most of the American team is made up of foriegn born mercenaries. Of course this is extremely far from the truth. Ironically it was Mexico in the last World Cup who had more foriegn born players on their roster. The 80's ended a long time ago, Mexico obviously did not get the memo. Quite possibly Simon & Simon and Riptide are still on the TV there, but here in the soccer real world its 2008, and tomorrow the score will be US 2- Mexico 0. The continued shrieks of denial and excuses will only prove to make the victory that much sweeter for us Americans. No se puede, indeed.

Yeah I've heard the "all your players are from other countries" line from the three Mexico fans I work with. After the Gold Cup one of them told me he heard Benny Feilhaber was German. I just shook my head. Amazing what desperate people will come up with... Personally I hope "Automan" is still on down there. What a great show.
Someone probably heard his name and jumped to conclusions. Correctly if I'm wrong, but aren't Adu and Feilhaber the only foreign born players on our national team?
