Cherundolo a question mark as to whether he'll get the nod. Mathis is a lock to start. This is a must win game for 96 against Bundesliga doormats HB.

These are the games that relegation candidates lose, and BL1 teams win...

Of corse FSW isn't showing this match. Why would US fans be interested in a Hannover match. We would much rather watch those other powerhouses they are showing. Damn.

With a win, Hannover should be in pretty good shape.

With a win, Cologne and Herta would have a hard time catching Hannover. Hannover has a scheduling advantage over both those teams, and would have 2-3 games in hand.

With the 3rd relegation spot, Hannover would still have a couple games in hand...but a bit more difficult challenge.

Main thing, win the easy games and at home....and games away like BMoenchengladbach...don't give up 3 pts. (a tie OK there)...

what I never understood is why the metros, why Arena and why now Hannover96 is trying to make Mathis a midfielder. To me he is a pure striker.

I don't know if the Bundesliga radio station has a Sunday show the way they have a Saturday show that follows all the games. Regardless, it's in German and my German skills are quite rusty, so it's hard for me to follow. I'll try. Last time I listened in, I was able to discern some of what was going on.

I think it's his fault a lot of the time. He drops really deep looking for the ball. He's more a 2nd forward than a out-and-out striker. The way Hannover plays, they have a target forward and 3 attacking mids behind him. Mathis seems to be doing okay in that role... ;)

I'm sure they are able to switch it to the Hanover game right?

    1) Be cause our country has a shortage of creative midfiled types.

    2) A player as skillful as Clint is wasted when he only plays forward.

    Central Park South,
Metros and Arena never tried to play him as a midfielder. He was played as a forward where he often dropped back into the midfield and made it too crowded. He finally has a coach at Hannover that knows where to play him.

he did and he also missed alot of metrostar game last year too. When armando wasn't there (earlier of the season), clint played midfield many times with Magee/Moreno/Woly up front.

Uh, if your first language isn't English, maybe you meant something else. There are no Bundesliga teams with 'games in hand' over other teams. The term applies to games not yet played. If Koeln had played 35 matches, and Hannover only 33, then Hannover would have '2 games in hand' over Koeln.
Do you mean points to make up???

Its look like Lala and Christiansen are close to coming back in the side- likely not this game however.

I think they are going to make a difference- they appear to be better players then anyone in Clint's supporting cast.

Especially Christiansen, who has put up big numbers scoring in both BL1 and BL2 (he was 2nd in league last year with Bochum- behind Elber).

I'd love to see Hannover take 4 pts from next 2 game (win tomorrow, tie against Moechengladbach), get those guys healthy, then 'crisis' likely averted.

You are obviously unfamiliar with the concept of context so let me help you out.

Brazil and Madrid have great creative midfielders we do not.

Striker- For better or worse, Rangnick system is built around offensive running through Clint...to that extent, it is his supporting cast....if you watching the Munich game, you saw Clint play 2-3 good/great balls that the Hannover attacking playing HAD to do better with- at least force a hard save from Kahn. I feel pretty certain Christiansen would have done so- he has a much better scoring record than those currently surrounding Clint.

I wonder what position did Ronaldo play when he was with weaker teams? How about George Best when he was playing with his N. Ireland buddies?
