Bocanegra serving the first game of his three game suspension, McBride and Howard both expected to start, 10:00 a.m. ET

An interesting preview to the FA cup clash upcoming.

Without Bocanegra the already suspect Fulham defense could come tumbling down in this one, but Man Utd's backline is in shambles right now as well. This could be a high scoring affair. McBride might be able to use his size advantages on the Rio-Less Man Utd defense.

Van der Saar and Howard will see plenty of action in this match. With the Man Utd 7 points back of Arsenal, the premiership title is probably out of reach for Man Utd, we may see some new faces here towards the end of the year. If Man Utd has any hopes of catching Arsenal, this is a must win game for them.

Nice link for the next time the Eurotrolls start saying "football" is no game for statistics.

But seriously, what is McBrides record vs Howard? any great goals/saves?

Nah, the Eurotrolls will just keep saying stuff like, "all those Americans are concerned about is winning" or some of the sort...

There are plenty of sharp Euro guys on these threads, and they all seem to follow Hannover...

ok, i think Fulham might miss Boca , not so much on D but on the Attack, ...in the last two FA Cup games Boca hit the post and had two assists.

I was very impressed with Fulham when they won away at Man U, but they haven't played as well since then. True Man U isn't the same wihout Rio but i expect them to play with fire under them .
If Fulham wins and McHead gets a goal it will be a miracle.

I will not follow the game live but wait for the FSW 2 hour delay broadcast

since I am going to be in the UK for work and a friend got us tickets to Chelsea-Fulham on Mar 20th, I am delighted that Boca is beginning that damn suspension. He will be clear by the Chelsea game.

That should be a marvelous game. Is it at Stamford Bridge or Loftus Road?

Given recent history, I think I'd be more concerned about whether or not Inamoto can chip in for Fulham (or whether he just gets more paint-chips from the bench)...

Stamford Bridge. I am way pumped up.Have 1st class air tickets to London on someone else's nickel (flat sleeper seat) and tickets to see the game. Life is good.

That would involve some research of any Crew vs. MetroStars game since 2000. I'll have a crack at that tomorrow, after I get home from work. Doubt I'll have a chance to undertake that research effort tonight, while I'm at the office.

I will, however, be able to do the news round-up tomorrow prior to the match itself. :)

To follow up on my promise to research an answer to this question, here's what I have found...

    July 6, 2002 -- McBride scores in a 3-2 Crew loss.

July 31, 2002 -- McBride scores from the spot in a 3-2 Crew win.

    April 26, 2003 -- Howard posts a clean sheet in a 1-0 MetroStars win.

May 31, 2003 -- A 1-1 draw with McBride failing to make the scoresheet, but Howard makes one key save on McBride...

But when MetroStars felt like they had weathered the early storm, Columbus began to find some openings. Brian McBride had two good chances, putting one effort over the bar from the top of the box, then flashing in for a header on a corner kick, though putting right at Metro 'keeper Tim Howard.

That's the best I could find, with regard to head-to-head play between Tim Howard and Brian McBride since Howard became the MetroStars' starting 'keeper at the start of the 2001 season.

By the way, I just did a search on broadcast information for our YA's this weekend as it pertains to me here in Australia, and I'll have this game on live this weekend. Fox Sports 1 has the game, starting at 2 a.m. Melbourne time for me here.

And with my new broadband internet connection being set up tomorrow by my brother-in-law, I would be more than happy to do the PbP on this match. :)

Aside from the free audio webcast on Fulham's site, I think the only USA-based TV on this match is Fox Sports World's delayed broadcast at 9 a.m. PT/12 noon ET (as currently displayed on BigSoccer's homepage).

The live show, incidentally, begins at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET (and 2 a.m. Melbourne time for me here).

BA it is.If I go to Europe and my hosts only pay coach I usually go KLM Northwest where I have tons of miles for upgrades. But if someone else is paying first, I am going direct to London on BA.
By the way, it turns out that Fulham just do not have very fanatical fans.My friend got tickets, but independently I was able to get tickets( which I ultimately did not need) via the Fulham supporters club. They get pretty weak away support and the tickets were quite available.

In my opinion (which I know people will disagree...), our best defender, our best forward, and our best keeper all on the field at one time in a Premiership match... I really am liking this.

Except that our best defender is suspended for three games.

HILARIOUS! Such a sad and true indictment of Fulham's "support". What's especially rich about this particular away attendance is the fact that Chelsea play in FULHAM! In fact, this is geographically closer to a home match then Fulham's actual home fixtures in Shepherds Bush.

Thanks for the funny story Bruce and enjoy the match.

Does BA have good alcohol on their international flights? The only reason I flew KLM/NW was because I got a flight from MPLS to Gatwick for $300, and it put me over the top for frequent fliers miles. But the best they had for alcohol (in coach) was Tangueray and Bud Light. I was very disappointed.

I wasn't sure if there was or not.

Anyways, theres a place on the road there just west of brighton called the Sussex Bed Centre. I was going to get a picture of it when I was there in Nov. cuz the "Sus" of Sussex had fallen off or been stolen at some point. but I couldn't find my camera :(.

Anyways, some fine pubs there in Brighton, I quite enjoyed myself on my day trip there.
