I would guess getting traded to another team qualifies as an excused absence...

Goal keeping: Preki vows to rejoin Wizards - KC Star (so Diego Walsh is like Drew Carey?)
Was there any doubt Preki would not be up to the challenge?

Yikes. Don't get me wrong, and no offense to Preki or KC, but that's going to be really, really hard for a 40 year-old to come back from. If any 40 y/o professional athlete can do it, it's Preki, but that's going to be really friggin tough.

Or perhaps the game was played before he was traded.

On the bright side Kreis is 29 points behind Preki on the all-time scoring list. Kreis' best season since '99 is 35 points. You have to think Preki would like to retire with that record in tact on his terms.

Nobody else is even close to those two.
