This is great news. No more bullshit stopping them and now they can actualy start building that damn stadium.
Who? Tolbert and his wife? Fools. Incidentally, combine this with the Philadelphia news, and almost every team in the league will have their own stadium before DC United, Houston and, of course, New England. Even cities without teams (St. Louis) may have a stadium first (well, probably not, but it's a great line, isn't it?).
There's always New England. DC went for the home run, and I can't blame them for it, it's not like you build a new stdium in a few years if you don't like the one you got. Well, unless you are th NFL, who seems to have everyone in their pocket. I am glad that options outside of Poplar are finally being looked at seriously. Even with the drive for Poplar and before Fenty's lies I always thought DC should have doen this as a back up.....just in case. It's just so hard to get something done in most of the big cities. On the bright side. With Philly, KC and hopefully Houston soon to follow it really makes the league more viable than ever. I tmakes it a safer play for politicians than it was in the past. It will happen. Keep the faith. From a MetroScum.
I have a feeling New England and Seattle will be the only teams playing in NFL stadiums in 10 years time.
Nah man. Tolbert and his husband apparently. Word-on-the-street has it that it was the other dude that went with him to turn in the signatures that was the only other person to sign it. His wifey told him "Go to rehab," but he said "no...no...no..."
Well, if you go to Yanks Abroad, you'll keep reading the same tirades against MLS every single day of the year.
More like two. Kansas City (Arrowhead) and San Jose (McAfee Coliseum) are the only two teams left in NFL stadiums, and both of them are expected to move by 2010.
