Actually, in Portugal the sausage is slightly different. It is called linguica.

Come on, Graham. Do you really get paid to do this?

I don't recall but he did play in the Gold Cup. He had the handball that led to Brazil's game winning pk.

That jumped out at me too. I'm guessing the author looked at last year's media guide, saw Gibbs hadn't been capped and didn't bother to check into what he'd done in 2003.

For the record, his stats are listed on US Soccer's website under 2003 stats: 7 games, 6 starts, 559 minutes, 0 yellow cards, 1 red card.

Yeah, it was Connolly. Am I the only one that thinks the quality of his work has gone down lately?

I'm pretty sure they also call it chourico in places. I have a linguica factory down the block from my hiz-ouse in OakTown (yo!) and I buy chourico all the time.

In my father's hometown in NW Spain (right next to Galicia and Portugal and home to a significant number of lusophone pueblos), the gallegos call their sausage chourico.

Donovan expresses frustration at end of Portsmouth deal

Donovan expresses frustration at end of Portsmouth deal

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/soccer/02/02/bc.la.spt.soc.us.donovan.ap/

"United States international Landon Donovan said Monday he was frustrated at the collapse of a deal to play in England's Premier League with Portsmouth, and added that has no desire for a long-term commitment abroad."

Interesting, LD still saying he's not interested in going overseas for a long period of time. There goes my hopes that his willingness for a loan deal expessed a desire to move his career overseas.

I would still love to see him play abroad sometime. I wonder if it will ever happen?

But you have to admit, life playing in the MLS is probably pretty good for LD now days.

Actually, you're wrong. Not that it matters, but I just don't want people to be misinformed :)

"First there was the sad case of Kyle Martino's new $1,100 acoustic guitar. It was ruined on the flight to Mexico, the neck and the base of the instrument going their separate ways thanks to some unkind baggage handling."

"I think someone took it out of the case and just snapped it," Martino fumed.

hi kyle. loosen your guitar strings before flying next time. don't know the science behind it, but the strings tighten at altitude, and the neck snaps at the base... at least on acoustic guitars.

actually, just blame mexico if it'll make you play better.

Personally, I dont think i'd ever hand my guitar off to some random airline's baggage handlers.

Great advice, unfortunately Kyle is no longer with the Olympic team. Poor kid: his expensive guitar breaks en route and then he gets sent home due to injury.
