First half, we looked bad. JOB looked good but Beasley/Klein can't cross the ball to save their collective lives. In comes old man Stuart and the whole game changes. All of a sudden, we're hot. Good crosses, good build up, everything clicking. In comes Donovanand easley starts to look good. THe speed Bros are dangerous when they keep the ball on the ground. Donovan easily buried the shot and almost had a second if the goalie hadn't handled it. Down side - JOB disappeared in the second half. Buddle didn't get many minutes (about 8) but he seems to be a similar player (build/speed) to McHead and if that's the case, then it's McHead and bye bye Buddle. I didn't see anything special that woild seperate him from the pack. All in all, we were MUCH better in the second half and I'm giving credit to Stuart. His kicks are great and he seemed to get the team moving.
in 8 minutes of soccer, 4 minutes of which were the united states kicking the ball around in the back to waste time, you have figured out that buddle can go goodbye b/c in 4 minutes of actual soccer he seems to be similar to mcbride?
JOB gasses out all the time. If you go back and watch his play in the Olympics and the World Cup, you'll notice he's ten times better in the beginning of the tournament then at the end. He simply reaches a point where his stamina runs out....but when he's fresh, man is he good!!!
tpyical revs fan... if Buddle is similar to McBride, are you trying to say Twellman is similar to Donovan? If so, we can say bye bye to Twellman too... Besides, Arena is looking for McBride type forward into the national team, not Twellman.
I only saw the second half but I loved what I saw. Lots of good stuff from LD and DMB. We seemed to play with a certain flair that we aren't really known for. Hopefully more of this will come in the future. Good to see the lads back together. C14
lucky you to only watch the second half. At half time, I washed my eyes out with ammonia. Having seen the 2nd half, I am betting you would not believe how putrid the game was in the 1st.
