What they Hell you ask? Kind of started in another thread where a few local posters and a few online poster from out of town finally got to meet face to face but during the game isnt the best time to chat, so we are kicking around the idea of another get together. There are Battery fans from all over South Carolina (and place afar) and we are looking at a single match that hopefully we can get the most people from out-of-town to attend. many can't make it week to week due to distance, work, cost, or whatever. So were thinking on July 11 we will have the first Battery Brigades Brewhaha (name coppy writed by shelygg) It is the second leg of the Southern Derby against Carolina and also will have the Clash of the Carolina HS match (should be good too). Im pretty sure there will be So all you out-of towners, Sandlapper, Wellington, RedKnapp, TheoneFish, shelygg, AguiluchoMerengue,MRAD12, garnet&blackattack, Brook, and anyone else that doens't normally make it due to distance, Lets make this the match. Ill get some locals and we'll put on the tailgate, shoot the bull and then enjoy some soccer at the Baud. I'll work on scrounging together some pub passes and Im sure I can find a hotel deal too if anyone wants to stay the night We've have over a month, so get off work, get kitchen passes from the wife or girlfriend and get your ass to Charleston for the match!
Just how much debauchery will be involved...? I am just thinking of how to sell this one to the wife... She is a BIG fan of visiting the Baud. She'll just have to find her own weekend to do that. LOL
I was going to see if we could get a reunion tour of the Bombshells.....MadRiverChick lives in Boston now, right?
Last time the Bombshells came to a tailgate, a few of them had a couple shots of Jamison's, went over to practice a routine, and one of them fell and broke her elbow! But since they arent preforming anymore...they can just come over and drink! do you think 11am is too early to start a tailgate? but Im sure there will be pleanty of ladies around. The pub crawl had the ladies dancing on the bar at Market Street Saloon. But what happens at the BBB stays at the BBB!
okay, I think of myself as a worldly type of guy but Im racking my brain out trying to figure you BYODT.....bring your own drinking team, bring your own Disinfecting Towelettes.......
Man............................I knew the question would come but...........................you Mikey..............wow......................don't really know what to say .......................... scroll down and highlight to reveal just above the smilies.... DUCT TAPE!!
very clever...Mikey, someone in the Battery office could ask someone to authorize a one time hotel deal at the Hampton Inn.
Jarrett's Railhawks Supporters group has a goodly number, a few of them might be interested in a weekend of sand, beach, golf, soccer, etc. Or any Railhawks fan in general.....we could send something to their front office and pimp a nice little getaway weekend package. Hey, its the USL....we gotta market this league and do it creatively. Teams could/should work together and share game day travel packages with each other.
IF, and that is a BIG IF, I can get down there on Friday... How about a mini road trip to COAST Brewing Co and dinner at EVO? Just putting it out there...
I think I spent about 6 hours there the first time I visited. I cannot recall much from the visit, for some strange reason.............................
^I've been wanting to try there Brown and Stouts but they never have them when Ive gone around. So it looks like we are already geting some confirmations for attending. Kevin from Rock Hill (who doesn't post on these boards) is in for the weekend it looks like Attending: Kevin +1 (Rock Hill, SC) If anyone can help with car pooling or whatever post it here too.
I'm not quite sure about my status at the moment. I typically work every Saturday (retail), but had already planned to take that Sat off to coach my boys in a local 3v3 tournament. I'm not sure when that ends up, but will probably last all day. If it were to end in time, I'd definitely be up for making the trip...will keep you posted (as if you really care...).
Of course we care, the whole point of the Brewhaha is to get as many together as posible, but I understand work and family commitments.
Won't make it this year, but with a little luck, we will be back in Savannah by next summer and will make it to next years Brewhaha.
