It was made by Kicker's 4 WC reporters; Karlheinz Heimann, Werner-Johannes Müller, Rainer Kalb, Uli Kühne-Hellmessen.

in my opinion, Ceulemans was quite a underrated, and Rudi Völler must be in top 10 forwards. also I don't think Platini was good, but he could include in top 15 AMs.

p.s. since 1986, Kicker have been rating their NT players. when W.Germany beat Argentina in 1990, they first rated their opponents, and 1992EC, they began rating all matches & players.

    Nice post.

It's the first time that I see listed Vierchowood in these kind of lists so highly, maybe Hoddle too

Interesting. Strange to see Cuciuffo as a DM and Alemao as a offensive mid though.

I don't know why they classified Cuciuffo as DM, but maybe Alemao & Enrique as AM is due to their style. Kicker didn't categorize CM, only use DM/AM. Matthäus was also DM/CM at the time, but Kicker decided he was AM cause of his attacking effort.

Vierchowod was Italy's best defender at the tournament, but Scirea, Gentile and Oriali had declined by that time.

Pretty weird to see Martín Vázquez classified as a defensive midfielder. And Stojkovic only at number 10 among the creative mids.

Can you post Kicker's assessments of the German team from the 1990 World Cup? The same one is on the site from the 1998 SC, not before! And is there a general ranking of the players from this championship?

Do you have Kicker's Euro 1992 ratings?
