I love how you can clearly hear us, from what seems to be the other side of the stadium My friend was late to the TFC game, and he said he could hear us from parking lot. And my sister was even later and said she could hear us slightly from the Mission. I think we're doing a damn good job boys!
just a quick question from a newbie....why dont the ultras and the casbah sit together? i was watchin the colmubus fans and their fans section seems so full...wouldnt it be better and louder to have all the fans that sing together, singing the same things?
Us (The 1906 Ultras) and the Casbah hold different philosophies and styles of supporting. We are two entirely different groups but with a common goal, to support the Quakes. It is true that the more fans together, singing and chanting together would make it louder....thats why you and any friends that support the team should stand with the SGs (the Ultras ) so the groups get bigger and better and louder.
Casbah! (cue: Duck season! Wabbit season! Duck season!) Both SG's have stood together, at the Coliseum rousting the Quakes on to squashing the Scum, so it can work, and ought to next year in L.A. (bus trip), but we both do our own thing at Buck Shaw, which suits our members and curious onlookers/participants fine. Options outweigh a monoculture here. More room for variety, spontaneity, creativity.
Yup. It is nice when we go on trips and have to band together Casbah/Ultras/Quakes fans who normally sit and watch away from the SGs. At away matches, everybody should be standing, everybody singing, that's how we represent.
http://1906ultras.com/blog/ Now up and running, including writing from yours truly. Will cover Ultras stuff, but also Quakes stuff, and anything else I like. Nothing you can't find on CLS and TheBaySoccer, but just another (perhaps more off-color) take on things. Drop a comment and say hello.
You guys sure were on TV alot this week. However I hope you're not next home game. That boom camera they used to view the Ultras all game on Sat was damned annoying for those of us sitting in the next section over.

Just thought you guys would get a kick out of what the galaxy supporters are say about themselves: "One thing we have in LA is class supporter groups wether it be the ACB, Galaxians, or LARS; we do not stoop to the low class thing I have seen other groups doing against opposing teams." I guess some of these guys weren't at the San Jose game...LOL
A thing about "class" is that it is a description nominally reserved for those who don't aggrandize themselves with such terms - if you are indeed worthy of such, others will say so. In this case, no one else would, because they are, in fact, Scum.
