Because YA's Jozy and Aron did so poorly in the ered?

Groningen is coming off a 3-0 spanking to Frsylan's finest (well, 2nd finest) Cambuur

Groningen was at 7th with 9 pts before this weekend.
Utrecht was 11th with 7 pts.

Been a terrible week for YA's. Hopefully Rubin can rescue it with a goal today.

BTW, Boymans is back and scored the game winner (1-0) after coming on as a sub. That is not a great development for Rubin, who did not get off the bench.

Yes. I'm not sure what your point is.

If it is: he is young, talented and seem to fit well at Utrecht and will very possibly get plenty of opportunities if he stays at Utrecht or in the Eredivisie, then I wholeheartedly agree.

If it is: Boymans coming back and scoring a goal in his first sub minutes to win the game against another team that will likely be fighting for one of the last of the UEFA slots, then I disagree. Rubin's age in that case does not matter. Due to a slate of preseason injuries to Utrecht wingers and attackers, Rubin had a good chance to sneak into steady rotation for JOB's old side, but I don't think he got a chance to do enough to leapfrog forward any further in the pecking order.

He seems to have done very well so far. But his PT would have done better if Boymans were slower to return. If Petersen takes time to adapt etc.

The original post suggested that Rubin would be a YA of impact this season. I think the chances of that happening slid a bit. Thassall.

  15. He is young, talented and thus will get his chances and will develop, as he's as far as I can judge eager to learn.
And .....Utrecht coaching staff will make sure they donot overburden him ...phase him in gently!
