You win nothing but glory! And glory is everything to us ;)

Post your predicted Starting XI for the first match of the season and lets see who gets it right/closest. Even more fun when we have no clue about transfers! Post them here and we can check back in August!

it'll be a standard pyramid with Cantrell, Steel, Sparrow, Fleming, and of course, the ubiquitous Billy Minter across the top. Fanny Walden, naturally enough, will be at the heart of a midfield of himself, Clay, and Middlemiss. and Herbert Bliss will anchor the defense alongside either Lightfoot or Steel.

frankly, though - and I hate to sound the doom-monger - between the Austro-Russian tensions in the Balkans, and the Kaiser's saber-rattling, I'm beginning to wonder if the season will even come off.

Funny feeling this will be it for our first match of the season:

    --------------------Soldado-------------------------
    ----------Kane----Eriksen----Lamela-------------
    --------------Capoue----Holtby--------------------
    Bertrand----Vertonghen-Chiriches-----Walker
    ---------------------Lloris--------------------------

Given the personnel, I say Pochettino switches his traditional 4-4-1-1 to a 4-1-4-1. Dembele floats between a more advanced position, to one just ahead of Sandro.

    Soldado
    Holtby, Eriksen, Dembele, Lennon
    Sandro
    LB, Vert, Chiriches, Walker
    Lloris

Nearly that entire starting 11 can play his preferred pressing style. Even young but promising "LB."

Speaking of Dembele, did anyone else notice that Fulham has replaced him with another Moussa Dembele?

I hear great things about this kid

Don't agree with Holtby as a LM sorry, and I can't believe for a minute that Lamela doesn't start

I hear ya. It was a choice between him and Siggy. Holtby fits Poch's pressing style better.

The other alternative would be... gasp... Chadli.

Ok we are 5 days away so this is my official one vs West Ham:

    -----------------Soldado-------------------
    ----Lennon-----Eriksen-------Lamela----
    ------------Capoue----Holtby-------------
    Davies----Kaboul------Dier----Naughton
    -------------------Lloris--------------------

*I don't see Vertonghen starting since he was on break very long and Maurico might want to roll dice with Dier after his superb performance.
