From movie critic Chris Hewitt of the St. Paul (MN) Pioneer Press:

Renee Zellweger opted not to do "13 Going on 30." Renee Zellweger blew it.

Her loss is Jennifer Garner's gain.

The 'G' word you will utter after seeing her performance - as in Golden Globe nomination for best comedy actress. (Screw the Oscars, they would rather have given Bill Murray the Best Actor trophy he deserved for Lost In Translation before they ever give a comedy a major acting nomination)

    How old are you, ten?

Are you really honestly thinking that the general, not pre-teen-parenting population is going to see this movie, thus giving it any credibility at all?

It's a kiddie movie like Freaky Friday.

Ain't nobody gonna get no Golden Globe outta this one, my friend.

if i recall, people laughed when it was implied that Hanks would get nominated for awards for "Big" and that's pretty much what this movie is...a chick variation of Big.

i am not a pre-teen and i just saw the movie and LOVED it. a vast number of audience members were in their late 20s. many of them said as we were leaving how great it was and how it reminded them of their youths. yes, it could be a chick flic, but do pre teens really know a lot of the 80s references they made? i think not. i say, see it :)

It's because of gems like this that I love The Onion AV Club reviews so much: http://theonionavclub.com/cinema/index.php?issue=4016

Jennifer gave Denzel all he could handle this weekend; Man on Fire holds an infinitessimal $1m lead on '13' ($23m vs. 22m). When the final numbers come in tomorrow, it may be different. A moral victory for The Next Julia (tm USA Today) nonetheless. Think about it; Alias is ABC's best show, but it doesn't have anywhere resembling a good-sized audience. Garner, in her first major starring role, basically held one of the screen's A-list actors to a virtual draw.

And amerifolklegend, right now I wish I was younger than my current 41 years and counting on this earth...
