WUSA? Why are they beating that dead horse? If they do bring it back it should be semi-pro with payments based on a sort of revenue percentage.

Reading the article, it looks like the new WUSA plans to set up shop in cities with SSS, i.e. riding on the coattails of the MLS and USL. They're also going with a franchise model, which perplexes me. For all its faults, single-entity provides more stability for a fledgling league.

I tell ya one thing, the WUSA will need to re-target its marketing if it wants to survive. If you want to know why women's professional sports have trouble drawing, just listen to the audience when it cheers. It's kinda high-pitched. You can't support a league on women and children. The ranks of female fans may be growing, but their numbers are still a fraction of male fans. You need to get men out to the games if you want to break even.

I wonder if the those new teams with MLS/USL owners will be a "lady" version of the men's side? i.e. Lady Fire, Lady Red Bulls, Lady Rhinos, etc...

And will they have double headers?

Why would men be interested in women's football?

If you're really interested in the answer, there are many past threads in BigSoccer you can search for,

This is not a subject for MLS: News and Analysis.

This ain't England! Are you some kind of Eurosnob?! (joking)

Actually I'd prefer if they did actually do that, if only to avoid the bad WUSA names of the past. DC would have the Lady Eagles, Dallas, the Lady Hoops, and so on.

By the way Faye White, captain of Arsenal's Ladies team just got a MBE honor.
