Hoping for continued Mexican dominance! Woohoo!!!!! :D Let's hope Tuca doesn't punt this opportunity to become undisputed Champion of the World!

Very convenient to have all Mexican CCL discussion in 1 tidy thread

After watching the first few Copa MX games for the last two days.
Does Ascenso MX teams will give more of a challenge to Liga MX teams than any other Concacaf Federation teams... called it MLS, Cosa Rica's Fed. or Honduras Fed?

I was very pleasantly surprised by Lobos BUAP, and Correcaminos UAT.

Tigres, Monterrey, and Santos are gonna lay the smack down!

Chivas will finish last in their group and be the first mexican team to be eliminated by non mexican teams!!

Remember that with those young players Chivas reached the final of Libertadores 2 years ago...

And, we can agree that there's no comparison between teams from non-mexican Concacaf and South American teams.
Still, this Year Tigres takes the ticket to Morocco! =)

So what you are saying is that Tigres U-20 teams (that is what Tuca will play) is better than Chivas U-20?

    We will see.

Tigres will not sacrifice this tourney as they did with Copa Libertadores, a combination of first-team players and reserves should be enough to advance. Besides, it's a good opportunity to give some play time to Luis Garcia, young prospects like Pulido, Borelli, Guarch, Zamora, Stringel, and why not give another chance to Bornstein he hardly played last tournament.

Chivas is a very dynamic team, I'm sure they will advance out of the group stages, but once they face another mexican team, Santos, Monterrey, or Tigres that will be it, they have no chance.

Tigres will do the same as Santos and Monterrey did last Concacaf tourney, they started off with a combination of reserves and first team players, and then use the first team in the finals, specially at home.

    C.F. Monterrey 5 x Chorrillo F.C. 0
It was an entertaining match, good try by the Panamanians but was simply no match.
    Only 5 goals, could've been 5 more...
I was surprise Monterrey used their almost first team, only Cardozo and Meza were out.

Let's see if Tigres can make 5 goals tomorrow night.

    Tigres 4 x Real Esteli 0

Cons: Boring game, Tigres playing at "medio gas" the whole game, Did Palos played? Did Real Esteli shoot to goal? even once?
Pros: Pulido, Guarch, The Crowd was awesome the whole game!

They should have turned up the gas to match their rivals' goal difference. They're fighting for KO seeding, GD will matter.

Fun game tho. Good dominance, and awesome crowd. The fans know what's up.

I doubt goal difference will matter, Tigres is simply a superior, and will win this group by points difference not goal difference, same goes to Monterrey.

I know. I said they were fighting for KO seeding. Which means they will have to compare their GD to Mt's. Mt is who I meant when I said "their rivals". So GD will matter. definitely. Mt leads with +5 to their +4.

And why were yall singing "He who doesn't jump, doesn't go to Japan" last night? WTF. lol. Yall got clowned pretty bad on twitter by The Addiction.

I though they were singing "El que no brinque es rayado maricon" lol, but I guess is obvious, all this editions had been held in Japan, I didn't know the 2013 edition will be held in Morocco until someone told me, and I had to confirmed it by checking on fifa's club world cup page. :D

WOW what a comeback by Xelaju, two very nice goals by Chinchilla (specially the first) to steal a point from W Connection.

i didn't get to see the match live but from what i read and by watching the highlights it seemed like connection dominated but were undone by poor finishing and two great goals. Very disappointing for them because the team is mostly made of some of our u-23 prospects and some former internationals for leadership. I hope they treat this as a learning experience and that they dont finish last in this group because realistically they cant beat the mexicans.

The better MLS teams about the same, I'd say. But on average, Ascenso MX > CONCACAF Champs League non-Mexican teams.

Only place the Mexican clubs are challenged (and have a chance to prove themselves) is in Libertadores.
