https://www.skysports.com/football/...-arrested-after-alleged-assault-in-merseyside not a good time to be him
i have no idea why Tudor took this job. there is zero upside. if Tottenham stay up, the story will be "should have never been there in the first place" and he gets no credit if Tottenham go down, the story will be "Tudor took them down" and he will inherit all the blame he's signed up to be a scapegoat and nothing more. this does nothing to enhance his CV either way. similar to Ratcliffe he has become the sponge for all the criticism and abuse - both justified and unjustified. granted, it has not gone well for him at all and i maintain managers need to earn their stay as well so if he were to get sacked now it would be fine but it wouldn't change the reality of the poor recruitment, poor attitude of the players and 2 years of consistent relegation form over multiple managers amongst many other problems that were there long before him. that said, people are being disingenuous about this Kinsky thing. Kinský is clearly the cup goalkeeper and this is clearly a cup competition and not top priority. don't know why people are pretending otherwise his remit is literally only to stay in the EPL. the UCL is irrelevant. winning it or progressing in it won't solve their issues like last season Kinský is nothing special, that is clear, but no one could have predicted a hattrick of fatal errors within 20 mins i don't know why some are pretending Vicario is some super solid alternative that was unfairly benched? i don't know why some are pretending Tottenham don't leak goals for fun at the best of times anyway? or that they'd really stand a chance now that they finally face a top team? the sub snub was not great, but starting the cup keeper in a non-priority game isn't unreasonable. if Vicario got injured he'd get crucified for that too. it's lose lose. it's very easy to pile on Tudor now that he's the face of the Tottenham calamity, and he's not had the effect they want and certainly made errors but people aren't being fair on this one
Well, said. Whats going on at Spurs. I guess the best meme to describe is the michael jackson popcorn meme lol. Newcastle should have won 2 or 3-1 yesterday. Now they will go to the Camp Nou and get murdered. Yamal hattrick. I have to say CL was very boring yesterday other than the barca game. Hope today is much better because Paramount plus price went up.
All english teams could go out this round. At least 4 of them are. City, Spurs, Newcastle, and dont see Chelsea winning. Would that affect the coefficients for top 4 vs top 5?
but...but ! the English sides are so strong!! and far ahead of the rest of Europe!! Tottenham finished 4th!! oh please. STFU. the EPL is only strong because of its riches. if the EPL actually had to develop talent to sustain itself, it would be a VERY different story
Yeah and Galatasaray look GOOD! They smoked a poor Juve side and they have the pace and power upfront to bother this Liverpool team at home and play on the counter. This is pretty funny. I never believed in City, but when I saw their XI I really didnt get it. How do you play against Madrid [who themselves are basically playing with 5 mids and Vini] with just Rodrigo and Bernardo as your only midfielders. There was no inverting from O Riley. Pep, because of his high standards gets challenged a lot, but how the ******** you only win ONE CL with this CITY team?
Also Thaigo Pitarch. Even though he made a mistake that they almost scored from, he had a hell of a game. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
yes, brave on the ball. to answer your other question i don't think the reality check for the English sides matter. pretty sure ENG is #1 in the coefficient standings by a fair margin and even if they fall to #2 below Spain (iirc), 2nd is still good enough for 5 places anyway as i understand it
also, i have no issue with Tottenham but i won't lie part of me wants to see them go down just to see what would happen. for science. am i the only one? is anyone else even a little curious?
You're definitely not the only one. As a random aside, I think the City charges are waiting to see if they finish second this season. That would allow them no sweat off their backs if there's a point reduction. Conspiracy hat on, they finish second, get a point deduction that doesn't relegate them, and they miss out on CL and maybe cup comps for a season.
I am very curious to see Spuds go down. No real animosity towards them, but I'd love to see them go down.
i am most interested in the financial fallout if Tottenham went down. how bad could it really get? could they lose the stadium? what would it mean for PSR? a player fire sale is guaranteed regardless. Sheffield Wednesday got docked massive points this season for financial issues and are likely to get points deducted again in League 2 or wherever they have fallen to. could/would it snowball like that for Tottenham too? ====== as for city the only thing i want to see is them stripped of titles if proven guilty. fines for clubs with endless pockets are pointless. i don't know why the governing bodies keep doing this. it would be too tricky to remove points from previous seasons and would open up so many avenues for legal action. there is also a precedent for this in Italy with Juventus. they can add a transfer ban as well
https://www.skysports.com/football/...ew-coach-wont-instantly-change-clubs-problems some might call it self preservation but he's not wrong. not sure why he'd want to preserve himself in this anyway. Tudor didn't bring the terrible injuries, the manager snubbing players, the relegation form and all the other issues with him. those were there long before. those baying for his dismissal are basing it on the assumption someone can save them but sometimes there is just no correct answer. i would be interested in his compensation if he did get sacked though given how short the appointment was
see that right there is exactly why Vicario wouldn't have made a difference against Atlético. dogshit keeping
As funny as Tottenham going closer to the bottom 3 would be I'm happy if they can nab 2 points from Liverpool. 5 points difference from Scouse and 6 from Chavski is nice reading
